This game has been entirely misrepresented.

First the EA servers cant handle all the players, it is clear they werent prepared to handle the bandwith this game needed.

They assured that the EA servers were not going to be busy or unreliable, so there was no need for offline mode. With 20 to 30 minute queue times it is clear that the EA servers are in fact unreliable. Also i have personally experienced game crashes with loss of cities and no possible way to save my game.

Lastly and most important they ensured features such as leaderboards with achievements all being displayed online. Now this is being taken away because of server overload. Thus giving more evedince of how unprepared and misleading the EA company has been in this product launch.

I sure wish whomever wrote the petition took the time to proof-read for spelling, grammar, and clarity. Not to be a nit-pick, but on something as important as a petition that you want to be heard, those sort of details do matter. My apologies if the writer is not a native English speaker. However, he or she could have consulted someone on this forum for assistance if that is the case.

I still signed this petition because I believe that refunds are due. Below is an edited copy of the petition text.

I signed it. I believe people are entitled to a refund even if it's completely digital. If a product is broken then they don't have the right to sell it.

Guys! I got a refund by simply asking for it on EA chat at Simcity's website. You don't need a petition for that. You only need a petition for pushing the offline agenda.

Signed.  I simply want the gaming industry to understand that customers will no longer put up with buying non-functioning products.  If this were a car we would all have taken it back to the dealership by now.

EA really needs to be accountable to some standard. They sold a bad product and laughing to the bank

Wow really? My main question now is... did you get a refund? or did you get a return? (You can't play the game anymore?)

    Signed the petition!

Not true for download purchases.  Read their rules at origin.

#1  No one cares about his grammar.  Don't claim you aren't a nit pick then nitpick #2  No one cares about your politics or your sexual perfrence.  We are here to talk about the game.

Re #1 - A well written petition is far more likely to be taken seriously

Re #2 - I didn't see that AIX mentioned politics or sexual orientation, not sure why you felt the need to do so

After conversing with the chat representative, he confirmed they are not offering refunds for the downloaded product. I informed him that (a) I would be cancelling the transaction with my bank and (b)while I understood that it would result in my Origin account being permanently canceled, it was my only remaining alternative. He seemed genuinely understanding of my decision, but wouldn't budge on the refund. It's going through the bank as I type.

If you have these issues, fine.. give me my refund and win me back later when you've proven you have a solid product that everyone is enjoying. For me,  I realized that I hadn't played SimCity 4 in a while and I'm downloading my old favorite mods from here.. ;-)

#1  Its makes no difference to anyone except those who nitpick.  The idea and facts of the petitiion are unchanged.

#2  You obviously missed his signature and considering how large it is and how much you claim to be a fan of detail you don't heed your own advice very well.

Yes, it is. I bought a digital version and I now have the $79.99 back in my account. What do you say to that, huh?

I didn't realize there was confusion there. Sorry. I got a refund and it was returned. So, no. I can no longer play the game. Lol, surely no one should expect to use a product after there money has been refunded.
