Let's cease this whole discussion on "crybabies" or whatever... It is not the same as "criticizing". People who come here expect to have their comments taken seriously and not be called names or have their comments made fun of. Likewise, any who do like the game or support Maxis's efforts aren't necessarily beholding to anyone. Their comments are just as serious. Either post or respond in a polite manner or move on. There's plenty more to read.   ;)

Can I ask you if you are also the type of gamer that can't throw their money at their screen fast enough to pay for DLC as well?

I just want to get the full personality makeup to fully understand where you're coming from.

Well funnily enough, after being a lurker on these forums for years, this post has inspired me to sign up to say, "I'm sad to say I knew this would happen."

I  just want to ask when is enough, enough for those who continue to excuse EA's appalling business practices?  The truly unfortunate reality is that pirates will pirate games regardless but all that EA is achieving with their ridiculous DRM is to penalize their customers who actually buy their products.

I've been an avid SimCity fan since forever and I just can't excuse EA any longer.

Clean up... Whether or not topics are relevant is a matter of opinion. As anyone who has read through the forums has seen, since the game's release, many have come on board to post their thoughts. If anyone doesn't feel the topic deserves comment, then don't comment, but don't deride those who do. We are here to discuss topics, not each other.

I think OtisJenkins' main point is that people should not rush to judgement. It's only been a few days since this game has been released. It just seems too early at this point and that's a legitimate argument.

*responding in this thread against my better judgement but......*

Who was waiting since 2004 for multiplayerfication of SimCity? You said everyone. Newcomers come into SimCity world and call the vast majority names on the first post? I think Simtropolis needs a bouncer or two.

Perhaps not "everyone" but I certainly know people who wanted multiplayer as an option... to be able to interact with other friends. Now personally, I'm more of a single player person but still, those multiplayer people did exist. It was even mentioned a few times in the Simtropolis chat years ago. Many years ago.

And on that, I totally agree...

Edit: Why should Maxis and EA decide for me whether I want multiplayer or not. I actually receive the game tomorrow but from my friends playing it already, isn't there something called sandbox mode where you can play by yourself?

I certainly was never waiting for multiplayer...I was waiting for massive tiles, more transportation options, better terraforming, ease of modding and gereral increase in scale, scope and freedom.  Instead the poeple who bought it get none of that but they do get a multiplayer that doesn't even work.

Its also a legitimate argument to state that the launch so far has been a disaster,

wt?!! I suppose 10 years to prepare for this game isn't much time to get it right? Im not a hater. I loved the old sim city games. But sorry, paying $80 to bring it home and stare at a "SIM CITY SERVER DOWN" msg for 6 hours does not let me share your sentiment of patience. This is not a game thrown together by your nerdy tech mate next door. Maybe then you'd give slack where it is due. You don't go into a restaurant and pay for your meal and think it's ok for them to serve it to you in a day or so!

I have nothing against having online components of a game, but to have it mandatory? my internet connection is fast and fine, but I rely on a server being up or fast to be able to play a game? Diablo III was just as bad, was down for 3 days once. Maybe it's because the U.S maintenance window is in Australian prime time use????

To summate, from my perspective, the launch is a disaster, regardless of whether the game is or not.
