Start New City - same city?

So I'm bankrupt yet again (how I'm supposed to squeeze more garbage dumps into my growing city I do not know. If anyone knows the metric on how much the recyling plant diverts from the dump I would be most grateful) and I can't realistically dig out of this hole. If I want to start a new city it shows me the region map, but that's not what I want, I want to start over. Is that an option, or do we just litter the region with dying cities until the end of time?

TIA

You can abandon a whole region from your main page.  it seems to take the server awhile to realize you did it, but it will eventually disappear.

Thanks. Someone started a city in my region but then left so I guess I might as well clean that out. The city was doing well but there's so much pollution that I can't clean up that I'll just start over.

No, your abandoned cities stay in the region is someone else is playing on it. and anyone else is able to claim your abandoned city to save it, even if that means bulldozing everything and starting over. They might need a money gift from some other player to get started again though.

Burning garbage should be an early priority.  I've never had any garbage space issues.  After the placing the initial one, I always add an incinerator to handle burning the garbage.  If the dump begins to fill up, I add another incinerator.  Also, using the recycling center reduces the garbage, not sure by how much, and can make you a lot of money.  As you reclaim alloy, metals and plastic you can sell it on the global market through a trade depot for pretty good profits.

They wont even allow us to abandone and start over a city? If true I really regret buying if I never did already.

The only way to get a "clean slate" start is to start a new region. You have 10 regions at once.(per server) If you fill it up, you can abandon entire regions to make room for fresh ones. Alternatively, change servers and get 10 more blank region slots to build in.

That's moronic. What if I want to start over in my same region I cannot, wow, an all new low, the consumer gets shafted

If you mean start over a single city without affecting the other cities, then you can not. You can abandon an entire region and recreate it to start over without using up any more slots.
