The lack of quality and ludicrous design direction have been detailed to death on here, so I won't bother to elaborate.  I would have gladly paid double for a decent update to SC4.

 

I just cannot reinforce EA's outrageous behaviour by giving them money for this title.

 

Maybe a sequel will come out in a year or two that addresses many of the glaring, serious and show-stopper problems with this train wreck of a sim.

 

Very sad and disappointed, but far from surprised given all the info available in the lead-up to launch.  First mainline title since the original that won't be added to my collection.

Give it five years, in which hopefully EA abandons their pay-for-custom-content scheme, modding is introduced, an offline patch becomes available, and the price drops below $40.

Price isn't the issue for me...it's everything else you mentioned.

Well, 12 million people paid for it. I doubt EA will care if even 100,000 don't buy. The game is great.
