One tiny detail that caught my eye is the billboards that have been placed on the hillsides. In my opinion they look just perfect right there, between the lower-rise buildings closer to the water, and the higher-rise buildings up on the hill. Just exquisite attention to detail. And yes, those mosaic pictures are great!

Thank you for the overall view of the region. And it seems that we only see a small part of the island. I can't wait to see your new fishing seaports, how Finnegan will developp and what will happen in Blair Whitch Woods (2.gif) I am so excited by this CJ !

Step by step, people of Aldebaran keep on exploring and colonizing the Northern Island.

West from PARADISE BEACH, you can find the small city of MYTILENE

North West from CAPE TOWN is the rural village of BOISE :

I really like the look of the farms out on the cliffs.  The region shot is incredible and the farm in Mytilene is just awesome.  What a fantastic picture this is.  Complete with cows grazing on the hillside.

    Wonderful Update(s)29.gif

The rural city of MYTILENE :

    2500 souls.

MYTILENE is in the heart of Blair Witch Forest. Too far from the sea to become a real important city, but far enough from FINNEGAN'S WAKE to have its own local installations (schools, clinic, police and fire department etc...).
MYTILENE is located just between FINNEGAN and PARADISE BEACH, on the mountain road which links the two harbours of FINNEGAN and EMBOUCHURE, the only way to go through the deep Blair Witch Forest.

And in the end, here is a global view of MYTILENE :

I hope you appreciated your visit in MYTILENE 2.gif

I love your rural areas. Really realistic !
Are you going to cover the whole island with villages before letting the cities grow ?

Those pictures are just so sharp, it's incredible. We get lost in ourselves just looking at one closeup of a single farm or house. That last picture before the global view, with the factories, rail line, trees, farm fields, and houses just summarizes everything that is great about these pictures. In most of the pictures, every little detail looks like it is in just the right place.

    Ya know Fredval,

Every time I take a look at this CJ, I like it more and more, because there's just something different about it.  I'm not quite sure what it is... I have some ideas... I think probably that it is the vibrant colors of your villages against a common background of green that really makes the villages stand out.  It makes for a great effect.  I'm in the habit of creating sprawling vities that bump up next to other sprawling cities... and the background color tends to be gray as opposed to green.  I'm going to seriously have to think about how I present everything and how I lay out what I've got... because I REALLY like the look of everything you've done here!

    Keep up the great work!

Oroen : Thank you for this very nice compliment. What you pointed out is exactly what I try to do : give a lot of attention to every detail, may it be a farm house, a horse or a tree.
Lilou : No, actually I intend to let some cities develop before colonizing the entire island
Jglei : Thank you. I am sure you will like the picture here below... 2.gif

    BLAIR WITCH FOREST

The Jglei river is going through the forest. Here a nice water-mill not far from MYTILENE :

    fredval111.jpg

Blair Witch Forest is the biggest (known) forest of Aldebaran. Often in the mist, these woods are really scary for the people who dare cross it or settle in it !

    fredval119.jpg

Recently, explorers of Aldebaran discovered this very strange landmark.
Some stones aligned in circle lay in the middle of the forest. Whereas the settlers have always thought that Aldebaran was not habited, this discovery proved that in the past, a civilization already lived on this planet. And maybe still lives somewhere...
All the archeologists and scientists of Aldebaran rush to this place. Nobody is able so far, to give any explanation to this construction.
Is it a temple, an astronomical observatory, something else ?
The current state (some stones fell down on the ground) and the erosion of some others shows that this site was abandonned some hundreds of years ago. But the rest still remains a mistery !
Whatsoever, it gives more motivation to explore the rest of the planet : only 1/3 of the land has been vaguely explored and less than 10% are permanently inhabited... Aldebaran is to our settlers what the Far West in North America was for the first settlers...

Your creativity continues to impress me.  I really like the placement of the farmhouse with the watermill attached over PEG's stream kit.  I would never have thought of doing such a thing.  Just incredible.

The graphic effect you used on the strange landmark makes the picture look even more magical.

    You're right, I do like!

I haven't been able to play SC4 for the past 2 weeks or so because of finals, but I will a little bit more the next few days (and then I go on vacation!  Woohoo!)  so I hadn't been able to see if I could use that mill prop... but it looks great!  I DO really like it :-)

Wow! Simply amazing, you've got such an original style Fredval! I used to be amazed by your France journal long time ago, but this one is even better (thanks to the cycledogg mod); I really love those little isles and Bondage Beach looks really pretty! Same counts for the Stonehenge; the sharpening effect really makes it look stunning!

Hi Fredval, fantastic CJ 44.gif I really like the variety of lots and other custom content you have used. They are colourful, but look very much in place. You have also combined the towns and lots well with the natural terrain, so that it looks very realistic.

Thank you for posting your CJ, it is very inspirational. Great work and welcome back!35.gif
