Hey every, sorry for being a $%&^! but i have a prob and im not sure wha to do about it. I just started sim city 4 and I have seen a few videos on you tube. I noticed that during mayor mode peeps were ploping all sorts of trees and shrubs some in planters some on sidewalks some were very nifty looking to help bring in wealthy residents and clean the air. Will like i said im new. I was able to install NAM and those items show up in my game (by the way that is a nifftly little mod for transportaion), but when i try to install bsc mega prop pack vol 2, or lk cp 2009 seasanol flora, or lk 33 seasonal flora patch and even a few others nothing happens. I dont get any new trees shrubs ect. it seems to install corectly it goes in the plugins folder creates a bc folder, lk download folder ect and all the files are there. what am i not doing right. Again sorry this probebly isent the right place for this question but any help will surler make me better understanding the modding and how to install them.

First of all, welcome! So yeah, this is actually the forum section for Maxis's new SimCity game. Don't worry about it; just make sure to post SimCity 4 stuff here in the future.

It sounds like you're trying to download prop packs and use them in game. Prop packs and texture packs are known as 'dependencies', since they only serve to provide models that can show up on functional custom content (like mods or BATs). You need to find a mod that will allow you to actually plop flora. These are usually called MMP (mayor mode ploppable) mods. You can search the STEX and find quite a few of these (I actually recommend using Google and limiting results to simtropolis.com, since the search on this site is kind of sucky).
