Self-made café frappé (or frappèh, as the Greeks mispronounce their own 'invention'). I can't find the pinguin-shaped ice cubes though, bummer.

"Pinguin"? Is that the Dutch slipping to you eh Timmie? :P

As for the moment, I am currently wolfing down some two minute noodles before I hit the hay. Before, I was out with coworkers for a send off for one of our waitresses and just enjoying a few drinks.

Riiight, in English it's 'penguin', I forgot that for a while (but I still prefer 'pinguin' :P )

Hahaha it's okay. I must admit I fell into the same trap with my half German upbringing; copped a fair bit of slack for pronunciating it that way :thumb:

(And I'm the same, sounds so much better).

Water.  It is just before lunch, and I am undecided as to what to have.

    let's see...

I have a big cup of Starbuck's coffee here on the Amish computer desk. Yes, Amish. There are few things more bizarre in life than an Amish-built computer desk.

I just had another slug of Kentucky bourbon. It's too cloudy to tell if the sun is over the yardarm, so I figured no one would know how early it is.

The McDonald's breakfast sandwich I just finished was fresh, very tasty, and cost less than a buck and a half. You just can't beat seasoned ground swine with cheese on a biscuit first thing in the morning.

Let no one yield, we're on the field where deeds eclipse the sun; where the brave are told on a thread of gold, the tapestry is spun. As they speak of dreams, their armor gleams, this calm before the storm... Where all can see their destiny, the bishop takes the pawn.

Just finished my lunch:  An everything whole grain bagel with spiced liverwurst and mustard.  Can of soda water.

How about a photo of the Amish computer desk?  Sounds like an oxymoron.

The sun is now over the yard arm to I think I'll crack that bottle of good burgundy I bought last week.  I am like a poor sailor, the rum has run out, so now the tot is changed to wine.  Damn that captain Bligh!

my computer desk is far too messy and cluttered to expose to the world, maybe I'll clean it up some and post a pic. Atop of it sits a 1956 Grundig Majestic 4085 WorldBand radio, a very rare piece that was the first home radio to feature a built-in amplifier, and the very first equalizer (then called Multi-Sonic Tone Control). I had pictures and video of that when I tried to sell it on eBay, but those were lost in the Great Hard Drive Disaster.

I'm using an FM transmitter to run my mp3s through it right now, listening to Dave Brubeck's Take Five.

This is what it looks like, pic from the German Radio Museum. yes, I have and use a museum piece. The tube sound can't be matched by any sound system made today, and is great for old songs.

Diet coke and a decadent chocolate chip snack bar.  I agree that analog sound is better than digital by a thousand rows of Chrismas trees.  We have lost a lot by going digital.

a unique mixture of ground beef, pasta, and cream sauce with a bit of Italian seasonings. Wifey would be the first to admit, I'm still the better cook. But oh, how she tries ;)

    as per your request:

    003-1.jpg

the ashtray sitting in a saucer on the left is a former MRI machine puck made of 99.99% pure copper, it weighs probably 7 or 8 lbs. It is absolutely unique, I made it.

You can see the Grundig lit up and playing, on top of that is a 60s Airguide 'weather station'. The mousepad is about 12 years old; looks like it, doesn't it?

The Corvette is laser-cut from stainless, a gift from a former coworker.

Thank you.  As expected it is a beautiful piece of cabinetry.  Must have taken considerable persuasion to get it made.

Currently eating: a decadent chocolate chip mini bar and sipping a diet root beer the sun not yet over the yardarm.  Later on it will be a couple of rounds of mini-brie, some bread or crackers and a maple planter's punch made with the 1,2,3,4 recipe.

I inherited it from my mom, who paid about $1100 for it from an Amish store 13 years ago. Solid oak, it weighs a ton but the top comes off for easy moving.

on-topic, I'm nursing an 8 shot venti vanilla breve latte from Starbucks. A $10 drink that was free as a Gold card member. Every 12th food or drink item is free, regardless of cost. There's no way I would buy such an extravagant drink with real money.

just wrapped up a cheese-stuffed baked chicken breast; 2 kinds of cheddar. I dispensed with the crispy coating of crushed cheese crackers this time; but not the alliteration.
