Is there a limit to how old a city can get?

A quick question, just to be sure: Is there a limit to how old a city can get? I have several 'old' cities approaching the respectable age of a 1000 years. I would hate to see the game reset these cities when they reach a 1000 years, just after the fireworks..

tnx,

Paul

As far as I know, you can run until you overflow the year counter. If it is a UINT (unsigned 32-bit integer) it can go as high as 4,294,967,295. I wouldn't worry about a paltry Sim-millennium.

Then that means that the city could be as old as Earth itself. Impressive.

Well no worries then, thanks for answering my question. I think it took me 3 years of playing to get two or three cities to a millennium, so it will probably take another 3 years to get them to the present date ;). Though most of the other cities will most likely never get to see a millennium..

Have fun with your middle ages. They start somewhere around 640. SmilieCanada.gif

I start my cities at 0 (I pause the simulator in God Mode). Right now, the 75 cities in my region En Gedi are all at 500 years. I would like to get them to at least a millennium before moving on.
