Here is the start of the Puzz 3D discussion! Looks like I got into the "Towers made to scale collection" again. :)

Has anyone ever put together a Puzz 3D puzzle before? Anyone have a collection? Or has anyone heard that Puzz 3D is technically not out of business? Well, let's talk about Puzz 3D here.

So far, I have a simple collection of Puzz 3D puzzles so far. I have built the Eiffel tower, Notre Dam, and the Burj al Arab so far.

I had the globe but I didn't like it. It has numbers on the back of the pieces. That isn't a puzzle; it's a model assembly kit.

A building might be more interesting.

We can inspire others through witness so that one grows together in communicating. But the worst thing of all is religious proselytism, which paralyzes: “I am talking with you in order to persuade you.” No. Each person dialogues, starting with his and her own identity. The church grows by attraction, not proselytizing.    - Pope Francis

The only one I ever actually finished was the US Capitol. I also had the Empire State Building and the globe but I never got done with either since I was a sloppy kid and I lost a bunch of the pieces.

All three of these things are long since in landfills now...

Relevant to sc4, my brother had the NYC one. Quite the monster when it was done.

Returning soon[ish] from a long time away...

It's nice to still see people remember this.

I heard that the NYC one Za had over 3000 pieces. Jawdropper.

Duke, I was sloppy back then too, when I was 10 or so, I had the sears tower one and I kept losing pieces. I had over 10 pieces lost after completing it. It ended up that my dog chewed on them. DX

Meg, A globe one? I didn't recall there being a Puzz 3D globe puzzle. That sounds interesting though.

I think this is the one I had. Either that or something that looked very similar. It's not made by Puzz 3D.

I still have a ton of those on a shelf in my laundry room :whatevs: I should bring down my CN Tower one and do that this weekend. I totally forgot about those. I'll see if I can get a picture of the collection I had.

My wife was heavily into these before she died. She liked the Christmas village and had it completed along with a few others. The village was prominently displayed each year with our Christmas diorama. All gone now for lack of space in this shoe box I inhabit these days, but I did indeed help with assembling them.

When they were popular, they made great gifts for selected persons.

Oh, I remember! I had several of them. Most notably the Eiffel Tower and the Big Ben (that one was huge). I think I also had Neuschwanstein Castle, the "Bavarian Mansion", a Swiss wall clock, the Titanic, l'Arc de Triomphe (miniature) and a couple others whose names escape me. My grandmother were also fond of those. I spent a lot of time with her, assembling the plates on her kitchen table before putting the entire thing together.

    Ahh... memories...

I have some of them, The Empire State Building set, The California Buildings set, and the Neuschwanstien Castle set. Still wish I can find them in stores! I have been wanting the Burj Al Arab! They are great to work on, on rainy days :)

I don't think you'll get the Burj. I haven't seen any in so long I think they've been discontinued.

Yea, if you're lucky, you could get the Burj on Ebay for fifty bucks. Now the real wild ones are the Petronas towers (tried to bid on one, but my pockets were too empty. The final bid ended up being a whopping $96.00) and the Taipei 101. I luckily got the Burj, man this was my first puzzle since I was a kid, and this was the hardest one to put together so far. Whenever I put the outside skeleton thingy on, it pushes the wall pieces in. DX

Just completed two boxes of puzzles (total of 4). The Citigroup/Flatiron buildings and the John Hancock/Tribune tower. Still awaiting the Sears toer. Is it me, or does the John Hancock building look out of scale? Or is it really that tall and the antenna is very tall?
