If you're not a fan of the new Star Wars moves, check out these Star Wars 1-3 reviews on Redlettermedia. They're long but awesome: http://redlettermedia.com/plinkett/star-wars/

Im not going to mention that CGI movie they made, though I kinda liked the animated series.

And yes, those reviews are great for if you ever want to exactly point out to anyone why the latest three movies are so bad.

6, 4, 5, 3, 1, 2. Return of the Jedi is definitely the best.

Meanwhile, I must admit I have the kneejerk reaction to shun as invalid any movies Disney makes. But we'll see. We'll see.

We can inspire others through witness so that one grows together in communicating. But the worst thing of all is religious proselytism, which paralyzes: “I am talking with you in order to persuade you.” No. Each person dialogues, starting with his and her own identity. The church grows by attraction, not proselytizing.    - Pope Francis

I'm surprised to see so much support for Episode 6. To me, the Ewok stuff is flawed, and they were only put in to appeal to kids and boost merchandise sales. But don't get me wrong it's a great film, the space battle and climax with the Emperor shows that a lot of passion was put into the film.

Did you know that it was supposed to be called Revenge of the Jedi? About a month or so prior to release it was changed to return.

I could care less about the Disney sequels. I don't think they will do much to tarnish the original trilogy. The prequels did enough of that. :P

Anyone seen the Star Wars Christmas special?

Love Empire Strikes Back and Return of the Jedi lol, the ewok stuff is hard to watch but its worth it for the confrontation with the Emperor and the final battle which is way better than most modern cgi stuffs.

Imagine that film without the comic relief of the ewoks. Pretty dreary without them; what you get is a video game with a little drama thrown in.

As long as it is not starring Donald Duck.

I certainly did. I have the original Revenge Of The Jedi poster. Bought it at a comic book shop about two weeks before the film's release.

Hang on to that poster. It will be worth a great deal when the few remaining get sucked up into private collections.

Way ahead of you on that. I knew it was a collector's item the moment I heard Lucas had switched the title to Return Of The Jedi.

lol I do know what you mean... probably I have just watched the film to much, infact I struggle to watch any of them for the most part thesedays which is a shame because I do enjoy them but the whole starwars thing is a little done to death for me. In saying that I am slowely getting drawn into the Clone Wars TV show some of the episodes are very good lol.

BTW very funny how phantom menace and clones have no votes lol.

My friend, you need to moderate this with a serious dose of Star Trek. I suggest a rerun of Enterprise or DS9 would cure your Star Wars blahs.

lol... I am doing just that have always been more a trek fan :-). Currently on season 4 DS9/Season 2 Voyager. The early Voyagers are actually kind of hard to watch but enjoying DS9 as always. Im a bit of a geek have been watching them in chronological order right from the original series through to TNG. Infact it was about three/four years ago I started watching them this way so I have a way to go yet!

Interesting. I inherited a set of the original series disks when by brother-in-law passed away last year. Most played episode: "The Trouble with Tribbles".

I like that episode also, and the DS9 tie in episode they did as part of the 30th anniversaryis also great whilst also adding an extra dimension to the goings on.

Pack up your tribbles in your old kit bag, and smile, smile, smile.

Speaking of Star Wars, there was a petition to the US White House recently to build a Death-Star-like space station in 2016. It actually gained enough signatures to force them to look into the matter.

Click the link to read the petition and their awesome response: https://petitions.whitehouse.gov/petition/secure-resources-and-funding-and-begin-construction-death-star-2016/wlfKzFkN

That was an amusing read... 'The administration dosn't support destroying planets' lol. There propbably wouldn't be enough metal on the whole planet to build the thing anyhow and what would you blow up with it? Earth would be the only planet in range lol.

    By the way the Galactic Empire has responded to the White House's proposal, it's just as much lol as their response :}

Two belly laughs in the same forum. I must be in a very good mood today.

I seem to recall the putative emperor being tossed down a shaft into a fusion reactor. Is this one a revenant or a namesake?
