Can't see where to place bus stops and subway stations

    Hey all,

I got a suggestion about this, was to go into underground mode or data view and show only zones, but I don't get what I need. Doing that won't allow to place the bus stops or subway stations. It just puts me back to normal view. Which doesn't help to see what's going on. I basically want to be able to see and insert stuff like the subway stations and bus stops and the like, but the only problem is that there are so many tall bldg's that are blocking my view so I can't see where to place them or if I already have them in there. As far as I can see though I don't see anyway to do this. Like something that would lower/flatten all bldg's so you can see what's going on in the middle of all those tall bldg's. The only way I can do it would be to delete the tall buildings around the spot I want to see. But that's not exactly what I would prefer to do.

Any help or maybe a add-on that accomplishes this or whatever, not sure!

    Anyway thanks

    Brad

I do have the NAM but it messed up my economics to the point I couldn't get my city going it literally went into the dumper!!. So I went back to the default. I tried the zone view but that won't work because it only shows the zones not the bldg's. I need to see where the subway stations/bus stations are so I can plop a either station next to it or a parking garage.

Is there a NAM that won't mess with the economics???

No I don't have any other mod going with NAM. But I have never been able to get a city going with it installed. Without NAM I can get my cities going pretty good. I've also got my cities going than install NAM but as soon as I do my economics go straight to into the dumper. So if this is not suppose to happen then I don't get it then. As to the zone view it won't show existing buildings like subs and bus or pretty much anything else. Sure the zone view shows the zones but not what bldg's are there. Just shows blank spot where a existing building is. What I mean by buidlings is bus stops, subway stations, schools, etc. I place my Subways usually in the Residential area and next to a school or in the middle of a commercial area.

So for me to do this I need to see the building type but in a growing city with a bunch of skyscrapers it's hard to see what's at street level so I can't see if I have an existing bus stop or not or any other building.

Prophet42 mentioned the rtmt mod would show a text label where a subway station is, will it only show subways or show text labels for other buildings also?

By the way this is the Deluxe version with Rush Hour if that's any difference.

    Today the 13th

I decided to try the latest NAM #30. No problem with the economics as before, but now crashes to desktop when I go to plop a elevated rail to ground transition or any other under that menu. Don't know if this is a known problem or not. Also even with the NAM installed I still can't see whats in those blank spots while under zone view. I hover my cursor over the blank spot and it only says already occupied. I knew that I want to know whats already there. I can't go out of zone view and see what's there because the area is covered in skyscrapers so I can't see ground level.

No I'm not running any other mod other than NAM.

By the way should I start another thread? Since it's all connected to my original thread I figured I'd be ok doing it this way.

The NAM will help you with that view problem when plopping subways. Do you have the NAM??

Just adding the NAM shouldn't give you these problems. Most likely, there's a conflict between the NAM and some other mods you have, which wouldn't be needed once you have the NAM installed. Do you have any mods that affect demand installed?

You should still be able to plop a bus station in zone view. When you plop it though, it will not be visible until you go back in building view. If you have the NAM and or RTMT Mod, then you will see a small text on the road that says 'Bus Stop' after you place the station.
