Hi all,

Following problem (Win7 64 pro, SC4 Deluxe (latest patch), NAM (latest version), Intel Core i5:

My largest city (pop: 600k) does not go beyond school grade medium. It just stops.

Please don't answer with gameplay tips, I am very sure this is a bug.

It persists only in this city, all other are on high. School are abundantly set and funded, Libraries, Museums, Colle, Universtiy, everything. Sims are extremely educated, "all scholars" as my adivsor tells me.

Leads to a drop in R$$$ and median income of my Sims.

Can somebody help? Other info you might need?

Best,

Ben

How about your city population's age ? If the city is still young though the population is many, then still, it's not a bug, but the sims age is not yet reach the point when they must reach higher education. I suggest you to check your city population's age graph.

Can you give us a snapshot showing the city in the education display? And also a look at your education level graph? There must be something wrong here. How about the general desirability for R$$$? There are so many variables even in this small area, that this may be a real challenge to track down.

Wait a sec...i had this problem too in my old city. Too bad i deleted it already, i could've post pic to give some support here.

it seems like when it reach certain point of the city growth, the education level that once at high suddenly drop and stuck in medium never to rise again no matter how many education buildings plop surrounded the area. I thought it was affected by population age, but i'm not sure, cause never had that problem solved. I'd like to hear some explanation too here.

My biggest current city just topped 200K Sims. I'll keep a look out for this.

It might be because the Sims have aged out, and/or there are no post-graduate facilities such as museums, libraries and cultural institutions like the art gallery and opera house. If your Population by Age display is more blue than green, you need some young Sims to go to school and get educated to raise the average education.

    Hi all,

Thanks for your tips. To make that clear: My sims are all educated, just when I go on the buildings' properties, where it shows the desirability factors, school grade is always on medium.

    • Pop age & age distribution is fine. All ages are educated above 170, slightly rising until >190 at age 80+.
    • Museums, libraries all present. Even central library & major art museum.
    • Desirability is all green except some areas aroung landfill etc.
    • Yes, I have an Opera House. Why? Should I tear it down? Why?

I will give it a few tests. Could it be the private schools? They have way too many pupils, but I cant regulate them.

    Best,

    ben

There is a known problem with the Opera House. If you don't have it, you need Bulldoze the Opera House, apply the fix, then replop it.

i'm not sure, but will the opera house affect the entire education in one big city??

i thought that fix is only for its capacity.

Nevermind,..i read the description and it explained everything.
