yeah....
soo....

well, with HTML disallowed and a character limit imposed, my old sig cannot be recreated.

As such, I now have an "amish sig": Back to the simple life, with no frills.3.gif

for rating, see post two posts up.

beebs: Well, the issue here is that my old sig was longer than that..
Not only that, but it was within the site rules and considered "ideal" by some. I couldn't possibly start cutting stuff out of it. It wouldn't look right. So, I am forced to abandon it completely and stick with my simple little placeholdery quote unti such a time that the stupid character limit is removed. Even then, my sig can't come back completely as it was. It contained a lot of html coding, most of which could be redone with the current symbol tags, but some of which there aren't prescribed symbol tags for (like changing the text color). Also, as seen in another thread, the coding won't allow you to put an image as part of a link. My sig image has aways been a link to the source picture. Now, in proper htm that would be %7Boption%7D. Now, not only is the the "border=0" command unrecreatable with the symbol coding, but putting img tags inside of url tags results in most of the coding mysteriously vanishing once you hit the update button, leaving only a piece of the latter img tag behind.

So, sadly, most of the versatility and variety that was common on the old board is no longer allowed by the software.

Also, for the hell of it, here's my old sig in full:

-Duke87, Mega Fan, Keeper of the custom Label List
172_sig.PNG
^^^Megaman.EXE, of the Battle Network Series
Megaman Sites:12345678
Webcomics:12345678

Also note that the second to last link in there would now be broken since the new board uses a new system of making urls for things. Here's the new url for that thread:
https://www.simtropolis.com/forum/messageview.cfm?catid=39&threadid=49525&enterthread=y

aNote that the thread number (49525) is still the same, even if the url is different. As such, it is easy to take any link to an old board thread and get the new url out of it.

and now I think I've said enough.....

EDIT: Oh this is an interesting find... It appears that even though it says html code is not permitted, that the pasted coding is actualy resuting in my sig showing up, and not the coding for it.... hmm.....

EDIT2: Even more interesting... when I go back and edit the post agian to attempt to fix something that's showing up right, my html coding has actually been transformed into the symbol tag format (where appicable). This will prove hard to take advantage of though, since the results can be quite buggy...

Images have become very rare in sigs with 5.0, this is due to the new formatting and all that and even then, the link to me CJ is written under my Image...

Wow, I really like it. Not to mention that I like Kinata Region. It's mainly the photo that makes your sig look good. So I give you a 9.2/10.

8.33/10- I understand your sentiment (provided you're taking about what I think you are...)

Lesse what happens if I add my html sig in with the "add code" feature.

EDIT: Okay it shows up properly. Stretches the page out a fair ammount though...
I'd fix it, but it doesn't look like that's possible...
