Simcity style maps of real cities

Hi guys,

My name is Denis, I am a co-founder of a startup named Cutetown. It reminds SimCity that's why I'd like to ask you some questions.

Cutetown is the map of the real world, created in SimCity style.

Imagine that the customary maps become nice and comprehensible, that you are looking at pleasant and pretty houses, the perfect copies of real buildings, instead of fuzzy air photos or grey blocks. And all of these maps are creating by the users themselves: by your friends or by someone on the other side of Earth. Everyone can enjoy Cutetown and collaborate with the others on the same map.

You can not only create the real buildings in a game but also post it on a map and use it in your everyday life.

For example: this is the map of Stanford University campus.

and even night view:

Our maps are easy to use and to create: we have a special editing tool. It's an iPad app, a simple and casual 3D-editor. You don’t need the special knowledge in 3D or architecture to use it and to model the buildings. You can open the app, choose a building and start to create. All the models become the parts of high-detailed comprehensible common map.

I'd like to ask if it is interesting for you. Would you take part in our beta testing? Will you use this map when it will be ready? We are looking for the people who are addicted to their cities, its maps and good graphic, so please, let us know your opinion and ideas. We want to create the most beautiful map ever and need your help with it.

P.S. Our mail for you is founders@cutetown.net :)

And of course our facebook

What does it do besides maps? Any simulation?

We have an iPad app that allows you to create buildings and post them to the map.

Here is the video about how it works:

Talking about simulation: well, It's just the map now) We are thinking about adding the information about the buildings or some touristic points but it's only our thoughts now.

What makes you think that graphics improvements are any use without the application capability of SimCity 4? Good graphics are for the teen crowd who want instant cities with not much effort, and have little if any critical capacity. Some teen-agers quickly go beyond such shallowness.

Even with today's machines, our "friends" at EA have admitted that there is a problem with large cities and system power with all those nice graphics. It is a Paul Samuelson economics situation. You can have guns or butter but not both.
