The City of Saint Cloud -- My First CJ

  Here are some new screenshots on the Downtown portion of Saint Cloud.

Re-terraformed, A brand new seawall, and new freeways.  It is almost ready to develop.

Before development can begin some access roads have to be built to each part of the city.

This section of the city is ready for power and zoning.  Soon to follow is development.

There are also plans for a future Seaport.

Very few roads have been built in this area but it to is also ready for power and zoning.  Soon to follow is development.

There are also plans for a future marina and cruse ship port.

Here is a picture of the already developing Downtown district of Saint Cloud.

The roads are in and there is talk of a little inter-city canal to be built through the Downtown Area.

The high rises are finished and the city's planning commision is ready to finish the zoning and ready to develop the rest of downtown

Hey nycsc4! Welcome to Simtropolis!

Anyway, your journal is pretty good, though just to make it look a bit nicer, you might want to install a water modd from Peg (found on the STEX) and a rock modd from Peg (Also on the STEX). Cycledog's terrain modd (found on a diffrent website, use the keywords lewis and clark and search that journal for a link to download.)

They just make the city look a little nicer, more custom, and more professional.

Also, you don't really need that land bridge, what you could do is sink most of it, and leave only a small island connecting two bridges.

Here is a picture to show what I mean.

Anyway, good work so far, and I try and visit as often as I can, and help you if you need any.

Thanks MayorTim.  I do like the land bridge, i think it looks cool.  But thanks for your input.  i took off the extra land that was not being used on the causeway.  And do you know where i can download these certain walls.  They kind of curve inward.  There like a curved sea wall.

Well the only reason that I thought it would look better with two bridges is that, if that is a river, having a land bridge would cripple the water flow, and raise the waterlevel till it submerged the landbridge.

If that is a lake, you wouldn't have that sort of problem

Either way, I don't really care if you keep it or not, not my cj, and it is completely your choice.

Sorry I don't know what seawall set you are talking about, but Pegasus made some pretty good ones, so search for him on the STEX.

Also, I really recommend getting a water modd, it will really help make your city more beautiful, since it seems water is a key feature in your downtown area.

Unfortunately, the Cycledog terrain mod is no longer up for download, so you will have to wait till he uploads it here or fixes his website.

Hmm, thats about all I can think of, except maybe show us a region picture?

Here is the region view of Saint Cloud.
Since i did not plan on starting a cj out of this it was started in a already heavely developed region.  The City of Saint Cloud only consists of 4 cities in the region of New York.

Saint Cloud is the 4 cities within the white boarder.

Downtown is the city in the top right corner.

Villa Ridge, the first suburb in Saint Cloud, is in the bottom right corner

the two left-side cities are still un-developed

this is the city of Villa Ridge

Saint Cloud's First Suburb.

 

The mayor of Saint Cloud realized that downtown was becoming over-populated and too many people were trying to move into a space that was already too small.  So he decided to aquire more land south of Downtown Saint Cloud and west of Alyson Heights.  He named it Villa Ridge.  It is already beginning to develop.  The southwestern part of Villa Ridge is zoned and developing.  the northern areas are mostly forest.  There is also a 2 lane road that runs along the hill side through the forest.

Here is a picture of the brand new Saint Cloud International Airport.
It is not done yet but it is open for operation.

This Airport takes up the top left corner in the city.  A region view to show you this will be comming soon.  When i get the time.

This is pretty neat, I like your design philosohpy, good use of the canals.

 

The airport is really cool, but, uhm, it seems like there's not enough room for the planes to taxi away from the terminal to get to the runway, except for the NW gate terminal.

Thanks Equilibria.  Congrats to the BoSox last year, Eventhough they beat the crap out of my team.  Anyway i think we have a shot this year.  Also more updates comming soon on Villa Ridge and a new suburb Jessican Heights.  And the realism of the airport on the coast was what i was trying to accomplish.  Thanks for your comments.

 

yoder7652:  Thanks for your comments.  I looked everywhere for that arena.  I can't find it anywhere.  I can tell you this though.  If you e-mail me at hoffmannjc@charter.net i can send you the file.  If it is the right one.  If it is not then i can send you all of my stadiums and you can pick the one you like the best.  there are some pretty cool ones.

After the development of the Central Business District the old part of the CBDEW became very popular among citizens.  So the mayor had it expanded, all of the new part is elevated except for the last like two miles which is ground elevated.

finally the region view.

More cities have been added to Saint Cloud.

Villa Ridge now begining to over develop, the mayor has looked north and found a beautiful plat of land and named it Jessican Bay.  Already begining to develop very quickly the freeways were finished quickly and Downtown Jessican Bay is already open.

As you can see a very large plat of land is raised very much higher then Downtown Jessican Bay.  This raised land will be used for single family housing.  More suburbs.
