How utterly arcane. I wonder if SC 2013 will have working ferries and intercity freight? Garbage by rail? Garbage barges? Ports?

Sim City 3000/Unlimited had garbage mods by rail and by seaport. It's a feature which sadly was never carried into SC4

......, and there is a water transportation option on the transport menu...

It is curious the amount of empty space menus which suggests two things. Or lack much still has much to do or planned DLC.

Speaking of Lack... of the screen is visible at movement of Garbage Truck ......

Hi! I've got a question: do you think it's possible to convert HSR/GHSR/Bullet train mods to heavy rail (instead of monorail), and use them with starter pieces? I love the monorail, but these two networks are really nice. Sadly monorail automata looks odd on these two and vicaversa.

Differing rail gauges and types. The stuff derived from monorail could be reskinned, I suppose.

There are existing converters (GHSR to rail, BTM to HSR)

so that's not a problem. And

"Except in Russia and Finland, all high-speed rail systems use standard gauge, even in countries like Japan, Taiwan, and Spain where most of the existing rail lines use a different gauge." wikipedia

To the OP's question (and mine), I've not found the HSRP useful. In fact, it seems Sims don't want to use it. In a recent city, I spent a great deal of time putting it in, only to find maybe 100 Sims using it. When I replaced it with the stock Monorail, I had thousands using it. Am I missing something?

My HSPR presents a problem: the last railway carriage stays static when cornering (sorry for my google english xD), the rest turn just fine. Any suggestion? thanks in advance, I know it's an old post, hope you can help me

It happens with some automata, I don't know exactly why, but I don't get this problem with any of Vester's automata. I switched to those partially because of this problem, but also because his are some of the best quality automata that exist.

You can find a selection of such HSR automata here, he has also made a few modern Shinkansen trains in another pack too you might prefer.

Head over to my Lot and Mod Shack to keep abreast of my latest developments.

Do you like custom textures, but don't like all the work involved creating them?, take a look at the Texture Automation options here. Change the look and feel of your transit networks, with the minimum of effort, for example customised versions of my Sidewalk NAM (SWN) and Terrain Grass NAM (TGN) mods, and much more besides.

New to the NAM? Check out my tutorials on YouTube. Latest upload: How to: RHW - MHO Roundabout Interchanges. (Nov 25).

p.s. - I'm MGB over on SC4D and a member of the NAM team.

The ferry does have its own network.

I have no idea how it works, but when the Transit Simulator is calculating stuff, the Ferry is calculated completely separately, also the Ferry has its own separate network, and own separate handling class.

I have the impression the ferry was coded later, differently, and was "tacked on" over the existing stuff.
