John: Hey my friend and thank you. Concerning the Lawn Texture, it must be hidden in one of the texture DAT files because I was unable to locate it43.gif I honestly did look for quite awhile. I'm sorry my friend, 43.gifif I do come across it I will definitely let you know. I do have the actual number for it: 0xb5c04000, but when I did a search for this number I came up empty42.gif I don't know if that number will help you or not. 47.gif btw Thanks so much for your kind words concerning the re-update44.gif I thought the pond looked a little more realistic9.gif Take care my good friend.9.gif

    Update 17 Dedicated to gincheal
WOW. It's been awhile since my last official update46.gif RL has been very busy and as you know (well..some of you know) I have been working mostly with the BAT and LE lately. Before learning the BAT and LE updates were coming more or less by the day. They will no doubt slow down a little, but hopefully not too much..
    OK lets get going...

Nice updates, and I think I will survive with less frequent updates, an update every day is a very high production rate.

Excellent update my friend. I love how you've built that neighbourhood on the hills. Looks very nice. And these fences along the streets, wow, that looks amazing. And with the flora, that's really a lively place.

    Take care Steve.

well, you never fail to amaze me! It does look realistic, but I hope you will develop more down against the rest of the city, as it looks a bit lonely. and btw it must be a noisy place to live with all those dams so nearby!!!

!!!I missed so much!!! And you dedicated an update to me, thanks! I must say, that island surely is incredible. Love the terraforming, that Duke Chapel area is stunning. Also, on the last update, with the new community, the whole area, especially the homes is incredible. Very, very inspiring! 44.gif

EDIT: BTW, where do you get all this great flora? Like some of those evergreen trees. Could you point me to where I could get some of the flora? Thanks 1.gif

Awe inspiring as ever.  It's unfortunate (for us at least) that you'll be gone as long as you will!

If you check this before you're off on your travels... what is the red floral prop you used in your Duke Chapel lot?  That whole update was amazing!

Yes, I know how life can take us away... But Wow! Your updates have been very amazing. I'm really astonished on how much detail you have done, on such little places. That's what is really catching my eye greatly. This is a City Journal I truly do like! I'm just stuck at it. I can't believe it...and Great work!44.gif

I didn't want to say much more..Before I get out of hand. 18.gif
    Great work! Once again!5.gif

Nearly missed the updates again, well actually I missed the updates 43.gif

    Great updates they are.
Dukes chapel looks much better now. Moral of the story do not SC4 at 04.00 AM!
The night lights of the Chapel are one of the best ever seen.
I like the small cemetary (nice touch) and the stairs you've made are much better!

Hey, look is that a deer.

    deer.JPG

I would recommend another power source. I believe the windmill has a too much modern look for this chapel area. Why not try Vlakhaas' https://www.simtropolis.com/stex/details.cfm?id=1724

The small neighbourhood is great. The wealth was indeed increasing as fences (with park effect) were added. I love fences too, but I noticed a lot on STEX do not have corners with them so I stick to Jeronijs and some other fences. Where did you get those neat wooden fences (That have corners too?

One last remark, it must be a quite humid area that neighbourhood. It is in between the two powerplants. Well I am from Holland and believe me, I know what humidity is. Time for a wood protection service to move into the area. 2.gif

    Cheers,

jacqulina: Thanks very much> I hope to see you again soon.9.gif
Kwakelaar: Thanks and yes... Updating everyday I find is too much for me46.gif
Phil C: Hey buddy. Thank you for the compliments. Take care pal.44.gif
Simen: Hey my friend. I hope all is well19.gif You'd be surprised I think at the noise level near secluded waterfalls. Niagara Falls (which is near where I live), once you get about a block away from it isn't really that loud at all. Oh you can certainly hear the falls, but it's more IMO relaxing than irritating. Besides Niagara Falls is much bigger than what is in my city2.gif Thanks for your candor my friend. I hope to see you again soon.44.gif
ginchael: any home you want my friend19.gif er..well.. except mine36.gif
ChicAgo333: Hey my good buddy. How are ya9.gif Thanks for your great comments44.gif The flora your probably referring to is a combo of cycledoggs tree flora and jeronijs Maxis flora (sorry I can't link them as the STEX is down today15.gif). Just do a search under cycledogg and jeronij and you'll find them no problemo44.gif
jglei701: Hello mate29.gif I guess I was unclear in a post somewhere that I'll be gone for awhile43.gif Sorry for the confusion46.gif I'll just be updating less because of working with the BAT, LE and real life is busy right now.41.gif As for the Red flora tree prop. I'm not sure of the exact STEX download it's in, but it's the MJB_TreeF11 prop (0xaecd0819). If there is an easier way to locate the exact DAT file it's located in, I would like to know because I have had others ask me about textures and props34.gif I hope the info I gave you helps my friend19.gif Let me know29.gif
Mexicanboy13r: Hello mate. Thanks buddy for your great comments. WOW. Thank you43.gif
slann: Hey mate. Only three bunnies27.gif Nay just kidding my friend.18.gif Thanks so much for your kind words...and the bunnies2.gif
Nik-Nik: Not so much a problem updating at 4 am, but being asleep at 4am and updating2.gif Very bad idea43.gif Thanks for your compliments my friend44.gif I believe your right, that sure looks like a deer. It should be ok though, not too many residents on the island...yet..48.gif I'll look into different power sources, although I guess it's not too unrealistic30.gif Thanks for the link my friend... As for the wooden fences, if I'm assuming correctly, they belong to justanothersim, sorry can't link at the moment because the STEX is down for maintenance8.gif The files are called redbrickhouseR$$, whitebrick etc etc... I hope this helps my good friend44.gif

Very nice creation of the mall. Great details. Good to see the street is not divided by that brown piece anymore.

Love those billboards, who's creation are those?
Nice touch with the plopable water and the surroundings of the ponds blend in well with the rest of the CJ.

Thanks for the names, when STEX is up I will go there again.

Those last two updates were very good, Steve, I particularly enjoyed seeing how you created those ponds, I'll be using your technique if you don't mind.
That Mall setup is really great, lots of parking spaces. Never have enough of them in a city.

    Keep it up man! 44.gif

BTW what are those white fences you used in the previous update?

Mexicanboy13r: Thanks my friend. I'm honored a great CJ'er such as yourself has subscribed to my CJ. Thank's buddy44.gif P.S. When I attempt to create a golf coarse you'll be the standard I'll compare myself too because yours are the best I have seen44.gif
    jacqulina: Thanks again my friend.9.gif
Dan: Hey pal. Thanks so much for your compliments. Yes the billboards are small but effective. If you want to download these, check out this page for a whole bunch of them9.gif
Simen: LOL. Thanks buddy39.gif Make sure it's chocolate chip36.gif
Nik-Nik: Hey my good friend. I hope all is well? The billboards are a very nice addition to any city. (see Dan just above for a link to them44.gif)
ChicAgo333: Good to see you mate44.gif And thanks for your compliments concerning my BATTED Billboard. Im not much of a BATTER, but simple things I can do48.gif
John: Hey buddy. I don't mind at all, in fact as good as a CJ'er you are I expect you to do better2.gif If your reffering to the picket fence surrounding the house, they belong to  justanothersim (look under suburban homes44.gif), If your reffering to the white and greenish concrete fence props that are used throughout the residential area, that's custom made9.gif. Look for it under BSC Bat props MJB Vol03  . In fact, I would suggest downloading all of the Mega packs the BSC props29.gif They are well worth it.9.gif. Sorry. I still can't find the grass texture you were looking for8.gif
Below is a teaser of my next update which I will have Thursday or Friday4.gif. I have finished My BATTED library39.gif. Here are 2 shots of it:44.gif

    Great teaser Sorchin!

Huge palmtrees in the righthand corner.
I like the statue although it has its back to the front entrance is that for a reason? Else I would turn it 90 degrees so it is facing the righthand street.

    Looking forward to those updates.

    Take care.

Great updates Steve. I like the mall right next to the water. That's an attractive place to build such a thing. And I love what you did with the surrounding area: The pond, the flora and all the parking lots as a contrast to the natural environment. Amazing.

And I can also see that you were active with the BAT. A billboard... very nice job my friend. And the lot fits perfectly into that environment.

    Take care buddy.

Well done, Sorchin! I especially like the way you handled the previous updates in which you take us through the process of how you build parts of your towns and cities.. I always like to see how other people build their cities and you've found a very nice way of showing us.. I really must remember to come around here more often and comment, but trust me.. you'll see me here again! 9.gif
