Yup, the perfect rows of city blocks, and the waterfront. It definately looks like Barcelona 2.gif, all you need now are some buildings by Gaudi to finish it off. 4.gif

Not too sure about the motorways though lol

This cj is absolutely unbelievable. Even that short update gives my inspiration for a whole new region, concept, terraform method, etc. When this cj starts jumpstarting again it will be EPIC!

Keep up the extremely good work,

Once again, I'm thoroughly impressed with how good both the Heritage District and those highways look! You've really got a knack for making good blocks of W2W buildings. The plazas liven up the area quite a bit, and the more modern midrise in the second pic is a great fit next to the rest of the structures. Looking forward to much more! 9.gif

    Hello every one, my friends!

I have some more pics but some replies first.

To Callbat: Oh, thank you! Well, Gaudi buildings would be a great addition to the game but it's kinda difficult to bat i think 4.gif But i have an idea to use Sagrada familia by Maxis to recreate this landmark surrounded by these orthogonal blocks.. so.. Any way, i only take ideas and inspiration from Barcelona, but don't want to recreate it as it is. Also, i will mix up some different building styles in the future developments, so only current area will look like a Barcelona 4.gif

To Ilikehotdogsalot: Thanks man! Nice to hear that you find it looking like Barcelona too 4.gif

To Jacqulina: Thanks Jackie! I have some more stuff to come, so scroll just right down!

To Joetropian1: Oh, thank you for these kind words!

To S_olah: Thanks man! Glad you like it 4.gif

To ky72x: Oh, thanks. I really like the way it comes out with these orthogonal blocks - looks monotonous a bit but very detailed in closer view.

To Mightygoose: I really appreciate you words, man, and glad you've read first pages of this CJ. I especially appreciate it, since i've started this SC in 2005 and this turning tunnel was created more that two years ago, so... Thank you. Hope i'll not lose in quality in the future.

To Simtastico: Thanks for the comment 4.gif Actually they do look like plopped over eachother, but for me it's okay. Also, many bats might have better lods... but, oh well... and also, most of the buildings (exept landmarks and some diagonal bats) are growable 4.gif

    To Twenty20: Thankie 4.gif

To Pablo_SIMMANIAK: Thanks! And .. oh.. wait a second.. Oh, i only have few dat files with this terrain mod wich names contain these words: grassland, temperate. I believe that this is one of the Cycledogg terrain mods.

Okay, guys, i've finished some more development so i have more pics to show.

Here is a view to the finished marina:

    Another angle to the marina:

One of the bridges that connects the main town with the islands. This bridge was constructed when Aureliano was a small town, and it's a kind of a landmark:

One of the Tramvia branches goes in the middle of avenue:

Two different types of buildups compared:

Bidrseye view to the Aurelianeta and Marina:

Now i want to show you some bridge designs in unfinished areas.

There are two types of the bridge here in Aureliano. Ones that allows water traffic to go uder, and ones that are not.

This bridge is one of Aureliano 'water entrances':

Another side of heritage bridge (island side):

    ngu5ae.jpg

That's all about bridges today. Now some regional development situation:

    f27uoo.jpg

As you can see, there's a lot of work for me to do with that region since i want to create biggest city i ever created. I hope that Aureliano will be finished someday.. unlike other projects i've had 4.gif

That is one fine-looking marina! At first glance, it looks a bit crowded, but that's exactly how it's supposed to be. Nice use of the filler lots along the diagonal waterfront. The tree 'medians' beside the avenue look good as well. I like how you used your own train station! 3.gif The surrounding area was planned out very well, with the station fitting effortlessly in between the road and street and that neat little road overpass. Fantastic shots of all the bridges, and the region views along with your future development plans were a good way to finish another thrilling update.

I think I've had an extreme rush of awesome through my cerebral cortex 46.gif

Nice idea using the Angel de la victoria, It reminds me of the Christopher Columbus column!

I absolutely cannot wait for your next update, I love your every picture.

Perhaps you can do Moscow some time in the future? I have yet to see anybody do that 4.gif

Your overview is awesome, it's a very nice region. I love european cities, and the way that you build the different districts, especially the red roof houses. It looks very realistic.

Criquette, your work is amazing. I've never seen anyone with your level of creativity, but also with the ability to build or create exactly what they think up. I love your work...I don't suppose there's a way to persuade you into sharing it on the STEX?

Great set of shots. 4.gif Your pics really remind be of what I can remember from visiting Barcelona. I'd love to see a remake of La rambla and plaza de Catalunya. That bridge shot at the end is really impressive. Looking forward to seeing some development around it. Shame about the Eldaremme pics. Oh well. Guess things like that just happen. I've lost several big cities myself from hard drive crashes.

WOW, I like it very much! I love how the little promenade under the bridge and the exact elevation using your grass tiles from the embankment set... (forgive me, I use them in that way, too, and they've been working out really fine for me!). The region view is just excellent, I like the remaining island of the old river delta! If you ever populate the cliffs once, please, make sure you reserve a house for me there... maybe at the very sharp cut at the Nort- Western part of your inner- city (hmm, hope that I won't be overlooking some industrial areas... lol). No, maybe it's possible; not a mansion (imagine all the paparazzi,..), only a small, but beautiful house... Well, back to the topic: Beautiful work, looking very much forward to more,

Ookay peeps! I have some new pics to show.

Tell me if i'm updating my too often 2.gif

    First, some replies:

    To bbfan02: Thanks man!

To Ty72x: Oh, thank you for sutch a great comment! What i can say... I have some new type of buildup to come so check that out 4.gif

To Callbat: Be cool man! We need you here! Yes, this was and idea of using Angel de la victoria - i was trying to create something like Columbus column in Barcelona 4.gif Oh, forgot to say - i really like the idea of recreating Moscow buildup style, so may be i'll try to mix it up with Aureliano 4.gif

To Twenty20: Thank you very mutch 4.gif

To Jill Jacobs: Oh, thank you my friend. If you mean - to share the region? Well actually - i'm thinking about it 2.gif Concerning the lots i'm using.. even it's an universal lots, that can be used in different ways, most of them has a bunch of dependecies so it's kinda hard to share.. But i could share a region map i think 4.gif

To Mulefisk: Thankie! La rambla will be created for sure, aswell as Plaza de Catalunya and Sagrada Familia, but with Aureliano style 4.gif Glad that you like bridges so i have finished some development near them 4.gif

To Lucky7: Thanks man! Oh, it's great you use these lots as you want - they're supposed to serve your imagination 4.gif I'll try to find you a nice house in the next update 2.gif

    Ookie-dookie my friends!

I have finished small island, and here some pics:

    33mwnqd.jpg

Marina surrounded by 100% finished district:

    2gww2yx.jpg

Modern library and the park at the island:

    w8uy2r.jpg

Aurelianeta Concert hall and theatre complex:

    4ero7.jpg

    Aureliano is growing up fast...

    307on7q.jpg

If you remember - there was a hermit in very beginning of Aureliano. This man was trying to get rid of noise from the flareflakes mines...

    Read more about this hermit

Now he has to find him a new place to live:

    4ptt86.jpg

And here is another buildup style wich i use to develop another island:

    i5u1r7.jpg

    Looks really nice for me:

Hahaha! I love following the drama of the man tired of the construction! It's so funny how the construction is slowly catching up to his house, very cool! 9.gif

EDIT: I know as a CJer it's hard to understand how much readers like your work, trust me, I think all my pictures are the worst personally, but your CJ is seriously one of the best I've seen yet, and your city building is superb. I hope you win a lot of Trixies this winter! Beautiful work, that marina makes me drool.

Wonderful job creating that new island, it really justifies the statement that this is easily one of the best CJ's on Simtropolis. Kudos for using all of the filler lots for the seawalls! No one likes a weird-looking shoreline that's missing pieces. I like how you made the long parking lot, too. The way you developed the tips of the island is simply amazing, especially the one with the Coit Tower. Good shots of the other areas as well!

It's too bad for the hermit, but I must admit that his situation is pretty funny. He really ought to move somewhere in the mountains. There's no development there, well at least for now. 3.gif
