First of all the Recorder feature will only give you short snapshots. The content is a group of frames taken at the interval suggested. Now you need an application that can put them together into an animation. The GIMP can do this but it is a laborious process. You read the whole set of frames in "as frames" all at once, then use the program to title your video with additional leading and trailing frames. You will need the GIMP GAP (GIMP Animation Plugin) to do this. Google for the GIMP if you wish. You will also need the Help files and the tutorial named Grokking the GIMP. Be prepared to get a rather large file out of this.

Now, to go further and add sound, you will need a movie editor that can take this product and add a sound track.

The alternative is to find a program that can grab frames as you go and create a movie directly. There are several around. Anyone?

I am sure there's a better program out there. Hypercam isn't 100% free.

HyperCam 2 is what I grew up with, and works wonderfully, complete with features I need for any use I need recording for.

The other day when I was downloading it, I noticed it was unlocked and free for use from the official distributor. This was strange, last time I used it, it required a watermark and some features were premium only. Nonetheless, it works fine and 100% free now, probably due to the fact that a newer version is out.

    Found it:

HyperCam version 2, a product of Hyperionics, is now offered free for world-wide usage, both for private use and commercially.

    AWESOME
