Hey everyone.

I'm having this issue with the El-rail over Pedmall where the pedmall-pieces only shows as red/green/blue/black squares (see picture)

I'm guessing I've done something wrong when installing, but I don't know what.. so I really hope someone can help

Thanks in advance for any usefull information!

That's the NAM equivalent of the Brown Box. It means you have a texture missing.

Technically, if you place it down and the RGBK square is not there any more, you should be good to go. If not, maybe you're missing the Pedmall textures?

Well, it remains as RGBK squares when I place it so I'm obviously missing something.. But the Pedmalls in the regular road-menu is working just fine.. This issue is only with the El-Rail over Pm

Yarahi, do you happen to use an ELRail Catenary plugin? I seem to remember having this issue with one of them (). I don't remember if it was with the file itself or load order. I'll have to go some digging and checking...

There used to be a similar issue with certain RHW items that was fixed by having the NWM installed, but I'm not sure if it's the same texture from the NWM that the Pedmall/ELR pieces are referencing... Let me check...

EDIT: Unintsalling the NWM didn't cause the problem, but maybe it was because it was patched by Hotfix 301...?

@ CaptCity: That might just be "the hair in the soup" :thumb: Do you happen to remember the correct loading order?

@ Ganaram: Thanks for all your help to!

I would assume it has to load after NAM since it has "z_" on the front of the folder name. I did load it up, and yes, it gives me the RGBK squares. I tried a few different loading arrangements, but I can't seem to find one that works. This may be why I stopped using it. Will keep trying things...

Edit: Well, did some checking... Loaded up the Catenary Mod with the June 2009 version on NAM (the existing one when the Catenary Mod was made) and it worked fine - although the Red Brick pieces were a little "glitchy"...

So tried it with the Aug 2010 version and got the same RGBK squares on all the ELR/Pedmall pieces that show in the Sep 2011 version. Something must have been changed from 2009 to 2010 that affected the way the Catenary Mod works.

In early versions of NAM, pedestrian malls were floating. IIDs of textures for pedestrian mall have been changed when I lowered the height of the pieces in order to prevent regular sidewalks appearing when the pieces are touching zones.

Patch for the issue was posted on SC4D about two years ago but hasn't been posted here. Could you try attached patch to see if it resolve the issue? Copy z_NAM_2010_Patch_for_ELR_Catenary_Mod.dat to where NAM_piece_re-mod.dat is located.

Many thanks, ebina. Guess I missed the patch or forgot what it was for. It seems to have done the trick...

I wonder if we could reference it some where...?

    Hi everyone,

I know it's been 4 years since this issue was solved, but right now I'm dealing with this same problem and so I wonder if ebina or someone else would be so kind to share with me the patch as the file in ebina's link appears to be damaged.

Thanks in advance for any help!

I think the issue is the same one I addressed in this post on SC4D. There is a patch attached that will replace missing textures when using the ELR Catenary Mod.

Head over to my Lot and Mod Shack to keep abreast of my latest developments.

Do you like custom textures, but don't like all the work involved creating them?, take a look at the Texture Automation options here. Change the look and feel of your transit networks, with the minimum of effort, for example customised versions of my Sidewalk NAM (SWN) and Terrain Grass NAM (TGN) mods, and much more besides.

New to the NAM? Check out my tutorials on YouTube. Latest upload: How to: RHW - MHO Roundabout Interchanges. (Nov 25).

p.s. - I'm MGB over on SC4D and a member of the NAM team.
