From a technical standpoint, I have to say that I'm slightly impressed.

So what are people's thoughts on this? Helpful time saver or height of laziness?

My first impression was that is awesome! But, it would suck is it stopped working mid way through making the bed. But I won't be getting one any time soon, so I can handle making my bed. :P

its an automatic pool cover.

I was thinking it changed the sheets and all that.

I have to admit that I'm somewhat interested in making one for myself. Could fit it in with the "whole house automation" concept I've been contemplating for the past several years.

A little bit of both. we haven't time to spent, so each minute earned are important. but almost everyone is too lazy to make the bed. ;)

this one im not sure i would like a bed were the pillows are attached.

Now that you think about it this is useless, it makes it much more difficult to change the sheets and pillow cases.

Too bad it is not a better device. The Spanish economy could use a boost.

I agree with you, Duke, but when you have a mom who nags you to make your bed, this is useful. I wish I had one.

In the video that machine worked with only one blanket, maybe that's totally useless or not powerfull for a bed with 3 blankets and two coverlets.

I was educated to be ordered and to make bed and all the cleaning and ordering tasks by myself. A self-making bed sounds useless, at least for me.

Me too, but I'm just too lazy...

I guess that the invention of TV remote controller was regarded as an invention for the lazy at first, but has become absolutely normal with the time. Hopefully, this invention (with the required tweaks and improvements) will become normal some day.

It's sort of like the automated, self-scooping, kitty litter boxes, many of which have onboard weight, motion, or laser sensors to register the presence of kitty presents or even detect a cat in action. Err, somehow, I imagine the grillwork scooping mechanism to be even harder to clean than a normal box and shovel scoop, and the notion of plugging in a cat litter box to an electrical outlet seems like a potentially very bad idea.

I don't make my bed and you don't need to, it's not life or death. It is cool, but this is useless. Can't we just make our own bed?

Poor Kitty could really get a hot **** (not foot) from such a gadget. When we had cats we used the triple tray feature where you just dropped out the litter into the second tray, cleaned the top one, reversed it and put it on the bottom. Then you add enough fresh little to bring it to level. Only way to fly with multiple cats.

on most of those the mechanism was above the box so there was not much chance of anything shorting out.

All it would take is a stuck sensor to recycle Kitty.

the mechanism was not that strong, any cat could at the least panic and knock the lid/mechanism off the box
