Certain City crashes within ten minutes

Howdy y'all. I have been experiencing an error I have never seen before in the years I have been playing SimCity 4. I know that the game crashes "A LOT" but I can have up to 3-6 hours of play time before anything like that happens. Anyways back to the point; one of my cities in my region has been giving me problems. Unlike the other cities, this city crashes after the first ten minutes of the game. I was playing on this city one day when it did crash and ever since that day this problem has kept on coming back. My other cities have roughly the same population even more but its only this city that I have problems with. I have noted that as I start to plop and zone, it does reduce the time to crash from 10 minutes to 5 minutes for example. I have roughly 1.5 gb of mods and other plugins.

Here's the first 20 lines (or so) of the exception report:

Exception time: 06/17/2012, at 08:11:40.

Thanks for y'all help :)

There is nothing off-base in your dump.

What I suspect is that you have run into the overrun problem that provokes what I believe is an off-by-one bug in the queuing code. The avoidance strategy that I use is to save frequently. Use the in-game save (CTRL+s), and drop it into the conversation frequently. I do it every time I zone a big patch, or change the water layout. If nothing else, set an alarm clock for about 15 minutes to remind you. This strategy seems to reset whatever problem is accumulating.

Treat your play disk with great respect. They are getting very hard to find.

Nothing on a computer fixes itself. Either something was changed in the system or you did something to the files.

There could be conflicting plugins.

Also use the Ctrl+s ingame save function, and limit your plugins to a certain size.

Best,

I tried that and it hasn't worked though I have found out that the city won't crash when paused. It only crashes either while playing the game or zoning/plopping/etc.

I am using a compressed plugins folder that has three files and unfortunately I haven't seen conflicts in my other cities. Should I destroy some of my more recent development and see what happens?

Don't do anything rash that you don't have a back up for. Please post a screen shot of your city. (CTRL+SHIFT+s)

Nice city. In the upper right quadrant leading to the avenue round about among all the R zoning, what is that white area where there should be an avenue?

Thank you :D. That's actually parks that I have plopped down. My visual effects are on medium so at far distances details don't get shown.

Can't think of anything that might make your city just up an crash after 10 minutes. Start it up and try an in-game save (CTRL+S). This sometimes resets whatever is going awry.

Its all fixed now. :D It seems there was something wrong with the SAM. The parking lot street was conflicting with something else. After destroying the parking lot street the game worked flawlessly. Thanks everybody for your help! ^_^

Why would one texture an street as a parking-lot?

I think the idea was to have the ability to drag parking lots and therefore 'custom' parking lots on the go without having to lot individually, but I don't even think they carried parking lot functionality and with any kind of street mod they could look a bit odd.

Any time I've laid down SAM parking textures as lots, nothing used them. I am not sure those tiles are transit enabled.

I'm not sure this problem is the same as one I had a couple of years ago when I got my quad-core machine. As soon as a city got any size to it the game would begin crashing. The fix was as follows:

In the Task Manager (Ctl/Alt/Del) right click on the SC4 process and set the Priority to 'High' and in Affinity disable all but one processor.

The game has run perfect since.

Whatever works. Most people just add the option -cpucount:1 to their command line (target). If you do this don't forget that there has to be a space before every option hyphen.
