Freight Trains

Hi pals

am trying hard to running some Freight Trains in my city

but its been a hard a thing

can some one guide me to make it achieved

With the SimCity industrial areas it's a problematic situation--these would prioritize above all sending shipments through truck, then rail and lastly through ports. You'd have to get some of the following:

- freight truck traffic blockers (to keep borderline industrial parks from sending shipments on road)

- freight rail stations (there's better stations than the game's default--both in looks and capacity)

- maybe the mod that modifies freight train stations to allow for freight to exit from them to some other network. This is especially convenient for when you have freight ports in a port area industrial park.

- industrial and agricultural areas, of course--without these there's nothing to ship around.

Maybe you have built a transit enabled train station on the line. Some TE'd stations don't allow freight traffic through, so just lay a bypass around the station and see if that works.

Or maybe you have created more road connections, and the game finds that it's "faster" to ship them through roads.

The game tends to not use the tracks so much if there is a near by road connection.

I don't think anyone mentioned that if the tracks run through an industrial pod then plants within 4 grid squares will put their freight directly on the trains. You can set a big industrial area up with several spurs running into the area, and one freight station on the nearest road at the tracks. If the haul to the port or border is the closer by rail then that's what gets used. You might need the CDK ports from Pegasus to get rail into a port.
