    All,

Does there exist a mod out there that stops freight trips from terminating once they leave the city? I would like to build a strong integrated regional economy but really cant because of this bizarre game design element that terminated freight once it leaves the city.

Any advice on where to look would be great. If I knew how I would fix it myself, but alas a poli sci major I am woefully under equipped.

    Best,

    Alex

Yes, the name of the game is Rush Hour (Deluxe), not Freight Shed. The freight is just load for the network, and was felt to be not essential for the game or maybe kept for an Expansion Pack that never happened.

I always felt sorry for those trucks being lost. It's an unfinished job and idea. They shouldn't have created them if they just dissapear off the map.

I imagined, it would be cool if the trucks would deliver goods to some distribution centers and from there delivery vans would distribute goods to Commercial services and offices. That way u would have a rounded circle of economy and a new type of traffic.

One more thing i don't like is that airport passengers are not visible as well. U have an airport with 300k passengers per year but all u see are emloyees going to work there. In reality u have serious transportation systems transferring passengers between the city and the airport and here u can lay street to the airport.

Well you can have trucks go to freight rail stations and ports instead of simply leaving the tile. That's as close to a 'distribution centre' as the game gets.

Regarding airports, taxis spawn from it, That's the game's way of compensating for the lack of airport traffic, with the exception of employees' commutes.

Perhaps the next SimCity will improve this system, but it's too early to tell.
