Women grabs your clubs, your boyfriends will be glued to the TVs once more!

=P

"Intel" has been dropping for a while now on the follow up to Treyarch's Black Ops. It's no surprise to anyone that new a new Call of Duty is coming out, but what they've revealed is. I'm excited for it. The first surprise it offers up is showing Woods, who was thought dead to those who didn't explore the intel in the first game, in a wheel chair. Old as dirt with an oxygen tank he gives way to the concept for the new story. In the not distant future Americas "Army of Drones" have been hacked and are now destroying our cities. You will play from the 80's right up into 2025. The only known playable character right now is D. Mason. Perhaps Alex Masons son?

The graphics look moderately better, but who expected a major upgrade? If what Treyarch is promising comes out as expected, we will have a fun title to explore. The campaign is suppose to have branching story lines, zombies a massive face lift, and they want to bring the multiplayer into the E-Games arena. Honestly I'm sick of zombies overall. Zombies in our books. Zombies in our movies. Zombies in our games. ZOMBIES IN MY ALPHABET SOUP! Really, I'm sick of em.

The series needs something refreshing and this could very well be it. I've been playing since the start of the series and Black Ops is by far my most played and favorite. I still play it more then most other games.

What we know:

Between more information on SimCity, C&C Generals (being done like the old Westwood titles), and Black Ops 2 I'm looking forward to E3. All that I need now is another D&D CRPG built on 3.5 and I won't have a life. What do you all think about this?

This Call of Duty sounds like it could really shake up the series. Honestly, I was getting sick of the CoD4 remakes, so I'm glad that Treyarch is going out and doing something original.

I think it's like sticking a bit of paper over a turd and drawing flowers on it.

I may be being a bit harsh, but I see all the things I've got bored of in the CoD series here: Same engine/ Graphics style (Albeit BlOps does at least try to be different.) Massive amounts of "Manliness" and a tonne of Explosions.

To add to that, I think it's trying so hard it doesn't know what it wants to be. Horses? Robots? Sorry, but I think it's a lack of focus that might ruin the flow between massively in your face set pieces a little bit.

EDIT: Looks like I'll be sticking with BF3 for the foreseeable future.

FURTHER EDIT: I videoed my reaction after seeing the trailer.

I agree totally. I think Treyarch has what it takes to make this the next COD4. Black Ops1 showed some progress and now after the IW fiasco Treyarch can do something special without having to live under a shadow. I havn't looked forward to a game as much as this since NWN2, and that was simply because it was an Obsidian take on a Bioware game.

I respect your opinion. It does have a massive potential to fail hard if handled wrong.

If handled right however, it may actually be worth playing. We can hope, Treyarch are the more competent and imaginative of the two devs....

At this point it's just wait and see. If it does turn out to be yet another CoD 4 remake with futuristic gun skins, then the most I will do is Redbox it for the campaign. I will say that I'm more optimistic for this one than for past CoDs, simply because the concept sounds interesting and, if Treyarch knows what they're doing, could make for a very fun and distinctive game.

Honestly, I feel like this game will be the same as every year. Until gameplay videos and reviews are released, maybe then I will consider buying this. Then again, there is no fun with no-recoil weapons, killstreaks, idiotic community, etc.

I am sticking to Battlefield 3 for now (and maybe after COD:BO2 is released).

I wasn't much of a fan of Treyarch because of their game mechanics and graphics compared to Infinity Ward's. IWs always was more fluid with, "fuller" graphics. But I have to say Treyarch's getting their game together and the reveal trailer for Black Ops 2 was eye catching to say the least. Plus, they hit my sweetspot for storylines. NEAR FUTURE!

I most likely won't get this on launch night, but definitely soon after. I want to experience this new story they've got here. Plus i found out that the part with the horses is a "flashback" mission (or series of missions) where you're fighting during the Cold War in Afghanistan, which explains the desert terrain and the Russian Hind. Story seems solid enough. Setting equals awesomeness, and the graphics are touched up nicely.

Honestly, I was getting sick of the CoD4 remakes

They weren't remakes. They were sequels. Doesn't anyone pay attention to the story anymore?

When the gameplay is more than 99% identical I consider it a remake. The story is irrelevant.

Maybe this one wont be a let down like most COD's are. They need to make it more realistic. Honestly, who gets killed from a knife in the foot? Or even when trying to knife someone, at least have it stab the guy, not just swing it in all directions hoping to hit him. That is why I stick to BF3 waaay better.

BF3 isn't realistic and in terms of killing in general, you die mostly from bleeding out which neither CoD of BF3 does. BF3 being better is your opinion, which is fine. Anyway the broken and sluggish knife in BF3 is no better either.

This is very true. BF3 does incorporate some realism elements, but to say that it's an overall realistic game is way off the mark. If you want realism you have to go to games like Red Orchestra, or ArmA. Personally, I tend to prefer Battlefield over CoD for the scale and freedom that Battlefield traditionally offers, which has been diminishing in DICE's more recent games. So I'm interested to see where Treyarch takes this game.

    The story is irrelevant.

Are you serious? If you believe that then you are not a real gamer. The story is the backbone of any REAL game. Human life is full of stories. Our entire existence is one big story. A game without a story has no life. I bet all you care about it throwing on your headset and playing online multiplayer, huh.

    And also, E3 gameplay debut.
