Problem 1: How come when I downloaded the BAT awhile back there is no material library with the standard colors lke in gmax green, blue, red, etc? I am talking about in the Material editor and the material navigator. Do I need to deleted the entire BAT and download it again?

Problem 2: How do you make colored tinted glass that becomes transparent at night any good tutorials on this? Some of my problem may be caused by the problem I have above. Seen alot of cool buildings but no real explanation on it.

First of all, are you using GMAX or 3ds Max?

If you are using Gmax, then the best thing to do is get 3ds Max, unless you can't. I cannot think of any tutorials to use.

If you are using 3ds Max, this tutorial thread might help you :)

    Best regards,

    1. Do you mean that the button isn't there anymore? "m" is the hotkey, so just press m and the window should pop up even if the button is gone. To get the button back, you'll need to go to "Customize" and then you'll have to go through the various UI related options. If you're having trouble with that or it doesn't work or something you can just try reinstalling everything.

    2. To make that kind of glass there's an option for "Opacity" in the material editor. Lower the opacity, and model an interior and use spotlights to light up the inside at night. I think madhatter's and spa's threads have tutorials about this.

For either of the problems, if you show a screenshot of what's happening or what you want, it will be easier for someone to give you more specific info. :)

Problem 1 was fixed when I went back to the open file and found the 3ds mat lib file and opened it and got the various colors I needed for the BAT material navigator and editor.
