Free-form university?

Does anyone have any experience with or advice for building a free-form university of an architecture similar to what you'd find in, say, a small 19th-century liberal arts college in New England? I've searched City Journals for ideas and examples, but all the universities I can find seem to use a more modern style of architecture--they're quite impressive aesthetically, but they're just not the style I want. The Maxis reward university is nice, but obviously it's much too fixed. I know some people have taken the building props and turned them into standalone lots, but does anyone have any thoughts beyond just those?

You probably should post this in the BAT Request thread Here:

New Official BAT Request Thread

If you can try & get some pictures of the building style you are

thinking of it might help someone if they do BAT it.

Well, there is the Clayhurst University over at the LEX, but it is sadly limited and apparently abandoned. It is, on the bright side, modular.

I would be quite cautious at saying the University of Clayhurst pack is limited. You may have only a bunch of buildings to choose, but combined with Maxis or other custom content buildings, you can get a quite serious campus [link].

Furthermore, an expansion pack is in the making, but seems that RL doesn't give JBSimio a rest...

If you're looking for a modular uni, I think the UoC pack is the choice.

Last thing I saw, the modelling was already done. Only the packaging (which is done by Andreas) is left.. Unfortunately RL is no kinder to him :(

I'm not necessarily asking "What mod set should I download to do this?" but rather if anyone has any experience mixing and matching various lots--perhaps even using some intended for completely different purposes--of buildings, pathways, parks, etc. and what their experiences were as to what kinds of techniques work and what kind don't.

More of a conceptual question than a concrete "What do I need to download to do this and what are the instructions for using them?"
