Alright man, i'll take my time to re-read the content, i hope i'll manage to get in ^^.

No problem and you're welcome to join anytime.

I see a large skill gap between players :D

Some of the pictures are almost completely Maxis, some have been terraformed well and some haven't even been terraformed on, some guys have retaining walls, some don't and etc..

Isn't that the beauty of it? Different playing styles come together to build in one location (although there are some things like terraforming and grading that I personally am going to fix) Not every city looks and functions the same. But I was the one who used the MHW and it was done because large portions of BluePort were already developed before connections were needed to other cities so I needed something space conservative and RHW definately isn't. Also RHW wasn't very flexible when BluePort was inntially built.

Sorry for not being on here or BHCJII My laptop is not working

    ps nice update

No prob. You have alot of updating to do, you also are ganna have to resync the "DAMN" folder and soon Im going to divide the regions and plugins into two separate syncs aswell to give us more space.

    Now...for the latest news.

Looks interesting! I noticed when you were doing your drive through BluePort that you had signs for Interstate B301, but you were refering it as I-B302 in the commentary.

And I understand that you are using 'B' as a prefix just like Interstates in Hawaii use the 'H' as a prefix, but the 'B' can easily confused with the number 8. As a passerby, I would suggest avoiding the use of Interstate B8. (I was going to also suggest changing the letter, but that wouldn't be my call. :))

Hi ! I would like to join and I already added you to my msn (however, I use a third party client for MSN, trillian, so that may have some hick-ups).

If you want to know what I am capable of: I prefer making my cities functional without too much eye candy, yet they should still be realistic. Most of my buildings are Maxis, though I have some plug ins (especially if I want something nice like a historic centre). Here are some screenshots of my major city (350.000 pop, though it has two large industrial suburbs and a residential suburb of 90.000).

Okay I got connected to the server so perhaps about next week or so (exams...) I will perform my first actions as a mayor !

I love making highway signs using inkscape and stuff, but I don't think I feel comfortable actually BATting them. I could design my own anyway.

Lordsborough (located east of Knoxville) is under construction. For now, it's nothing but a large forest with two oversized highways running through it, the I-B106 and SR-803. Lordsborough Central Junction is under construction.

The reason I show this not-so-exciting image is: does this interchange live up to interstate standards? There is no connection from I-B106-north to SR803-west and vice versa. This is because it's not a logical route to drive for long-distance traffic. Perhaps a slip road will be made to the next junction (ypers mem. avenue) for local traffic. Also, the bends may be slightly tight, though not unrealistically so.

    No problem

    _______________________________________________________

Sorry for the delay in updates. I've been having some severe run-arounds in RL so I'm ganna be kinda slow.

Anyway. This update will feature the plans to extend SR-806 from Tesoropolis into Tri-Cities...

    SR-806 - Tesoropolis Turnpike

    MapTransport.png

Currently SR-806 exists between I-B2 just east of Downtown BluePort and I-B302 just south of Roma. This section is mostly tolled and will run consecutive with the designs toll schedule. There are also portions built in Tesoropolis that are not tolled as they are mostily multiplex with Interstates B3 and B403 until eastern Tesoropolis where it diverges into the Tesoropolis Fwy without tolling.

The dark green portion shows parts that have already been completed and the light green portion shows the plans to manueves the turnpike through the mountains to link between Tri-Cities and Tesoropolis. The link is a much needed link of which will connect Tesoropolis to Roma, and the Tri-Cities International Airport as well as provide a more direct route to Blueport upon the completion I-B3 and I-B2.

On the Eastern section, the tolls begin about 3 miles after the I-B3 junction proceding westward across the river where it will junction with I-B803 and then proceed as a tolled highway with two service plazas until you reach Tri-Cities where the tolling will end about 2 miles from the terminus at I-B2.

    WestCentralTile_113-Jan31001338146192.png

Departing from Tesoropolis, heading west across the river.

    WestCentralTile_113-Feb13001338146267.png

Moving across the river onto an island and crossing the western half of the river via an elevated section.

    WestCentralTile_113-Feb15001338146278.png

Arriving on mainland for our first interchange outside of Tesoropolis. Westbound Entry and Eastbound Exits are tolled as the carriageway was tolled in Tesoropolis. Currently all traffic must exit here.

    Dabbersburg-Jan7221338146786.png

Arriving just South of Strathpine where we meet I-B803. There is a planned tolled interchange here and afterward the tollroad will continue through the farmlands, and eventually into the mountains toward the Tri-Cities district.

    Interchange.png

    Planned Interchange design.

Really nice. I like the complexity of building styles from different people

Very VERY nice building style with the use of on-slopes - perfectly realistic. The only problem is SR-803 is a tollroad - (Dabbersburgh Bypass) Also I need to run SR-806 through the northern portion of that tile which Im going to do really quick. I will add the tolls as necessary on SR-803

Alright, my problem with WL Mesh is fixed (sort - of) so my city should no longer cause a CTD. Can anyone confirm that?

Lordsborough Central Junction is now nearly completely finished. Only the toll booths need to be added - I couldn't find them in the menus for some reason but there's enough room to place the tollbooths. The junction is kind of vast, but I hope Lordsborough will still become a thriving city, despite the enormous pollution that thing will cause...

It was practically impossible to use only on-slopes for this, it would make the already huge thing even more enormous. Nevertheless, I tried to use as few puzzle pieces as possible.

Lordsborough-Centre has grown to about 300.000 inhabitants. The centre is nearly at its planned population of half a million of residents. The entire city is planned to have about 1 million inhabitants, though in the future, more suburbs in adjacent tiles may be built.

To be honest, I wasn't expecting such ridiculously tall buildings to pop up so fast, so the road network in the centre is a bit too narrow, causing congestion. This will be solved by building more off- and onramps onto the state route. More work within city limits will be provided by building a CBD; for now, most people work in Knoxville. About 60.000 people commute to Knoxville each day. This is too much traffic for the state route, which is only 2 lanes per direction. Could someone please widen the highway to 4 lanes per direction? Lordsborough still needs to grow. Of course this may have to do with the fact that the northern state route hasn't been constructed yet.

    HfNTPl.jpg

I have never had this much congestion in SC4 like ever...

Wow. That IS pretty intense and is probably now the most congested highway in the region. Yeah the highway definately needs to be upgraded - Edit: Just saw there's a 2 tile median so the 6C / 8C idea wont be an easy conversion, just go ahead and upgrade to RHW6 or 8

Also the toll booths are in the "DAMN" menu's. You must go to the news ticker and click the blue hyperlink "Open DAMN" and then under mass transportation > road props > toll booths - or something like that

So Blue Hope running again. Best of luck guys! I'll be watching your progress.

Don't just watch! Join today and build the Greater Terran Region! :D

The GTR has long since been retired, and with it my CJ/MD career. I mostly focus on single cities now (not regional play) and post my stuff to the "Show Us Your..." threads.

So thanks for the invite, but I'm goona have to decline. That does not mean I won't stop checking out how Blue Hope is chugging along though.

    Good luck guys!

    ^^ That's pretty bad-ass.

As for the DAMN menu, I can't figure out how it works. I click on the blue thing and it gives me three buttons, so I click on the search button and I have tried to 'type' (click on the letters) a couple of different things but I don't get any results. I cannot figure out how to access the normal menu. Any tips, anyone?

    Well then, happy visiting!

I've just made a YouTube video involving Blue Hope.

Awsome. Almost makes me want to timelapse SR806's construction

Go to your BlueHope shortcut and select properties and make sure that the "Start In" Field does NOT have \Apps on the end of it. If it does, delete that final part of the string, Apply and OK. It should work then.
