I would suggest that You made the cupola glass transparent and modeled the ramps and mirrors inside, too!

...and maybe when it is finished You could male a pre-war version with the old cupola?

You allways find the right pics Odd. eeeeeh.....Do you know how the roof of San Carlo alle Quattro Fontane looks too?

    Erdmoebel....the roof has a lot of details....30.gif
But I wish you good luck. It doesn't matter if it looks exactly like the original building. But I like the Old one more...even though I know that the architect behind the new dome have got very good critics.

Ah yes, why did you make the berlin set 2 all the buildings stage 8.  It should come out in our cities as the building Hackesches Variete since it is a medium comercial density.

Wow, those aerial shots of the old Reichstag are excellent, just what is needed for the game views, so unusual to find on older buildings, great searching.

Oops, my Reichstags-scans were deleted due to file size... If the issue is detailing I guess the file size should allow details to be seen but what am I to know?? 22.gif

Are almost all buildings in berlin, wall2wall? the rowhomes are similar to JENX's french rowhomes, becuz I visited skyscraper.com and looked at berlin, and make a similar pattern.31.gif
    For example
    key
    B-building(i.e.rowhome)
    O-open space(i.e.plaza,or yard)
    R-road or avenue

we can take that notion further than that.

In Europe practically every city center or oldtown up to the 19th century, all buildings are W2W built. That is because the old towns usually were enwalled in the middleages, and those city defenses usualy weren't torn down until the 1800s. Until than they used every possible space within the walls. So that is why the layout of the blocks resemble so much in many european cities. Berlin, Paris, vienna, London, Brussels, Rome, Madrid,.....et cetera, et cetera.

    Does that answer your question?12.gif

yes, ladylettuce is right (by the way, how are you doing LL - haven't heard anything from you since bappingedam!) but in berlin is the situation a liitle diffrent. 3 years of bombings in ww2, the fights on the street in 1945, almost 50 years of communism and years of radical modernisation made berlin in many parts very unurban. if you take a look at alexanderplatz, zentrum-ost, marzahn or the former belle-alliance-square you will be shocked, how uneuropean berlin looks in a lot of places. one example:
    http://www.aac-berlin.de/aac/a_luft_d.html
this is the alexanderplatz, in former times it used to be a really dense quarter, but now it is dominated by the tv-tower and hunders of commie-blocks.

No it is not really like that. There are no open spaces in the middle of the blocks, typically 80% of the area of a block is covered by buildings. A block in Berlin may be up to 150 meters deep and the lots are packed to the max with back buildings. This map of Berlin (parts of the city center around 1900) shows what it looks like:

You might see a green area in the middle of a Berlin block, but then it is a result of World War 2 bombings.
