Storms991: 35 - 40 miles will be accepted. But if you read the question carefully, it said that you needed to supply a metro area city that exceeds 50,000 people in population. You will be awarded +5, but someone who gets the city in the metro area, will earn the other +5.

Due to this being the first question on page 9, we will restate the question so you don't have to switch between pages to see the question.

Approximately how far is Baltimore from Washington DC, and name one town in the metro area of Baltimore-Washington that exceeds 50,000.

I just realized I didn't think Montana because I could swear the clue said Montana has the largest species of mammals. I just thought it was thrown in there for some random reason.

are you asking for the tallest or largest 42.gif two very different questions as height doesn't mean the most sq footage or volume displacement...which the question seems to be asking..not the tallest skyscrapers

eg...(know it's not a skyscraper, but also depends on your definition of a skyscraper too.. it's just and example to show the difference between tallest and largest)

one of the largest office building in the United States is the pentagon 340,000sq ft,  origially 3 floors, 2 floors were added later making the height of 5 floors, reaching about 921ft started in 1941,completed around 1943 ,still ranks as one of the largest office building in the world...maybe even #1, as the USA won't admit how far it goes underground...their so secretative...3.gif  located in Arlington, Virginia and is the nerve centre of the American defence department
attack on 9\11 may have changed these particular facts...as these facts predate the attack

so are you asking for the tallest.42.gif..or the most square footage42.gif...and what do you consider the minimum height of a skyscraper42.gif

well he is wrong if it the largest...which he states in his answer it is...sears tower isn't in the top 5...it doesn't actually have that much uaseable sq footage near the top

In terms of square footage in a skyscraper, the Metlife Building in NYC is the biggest.

MetLife Building in NYC has over 500,000 square feet.

To be a skyscraper, it has to be over 500 feet, and have at least 12 levels.

The World Trade centre used to be the largest, but after terrorists blew up, I can't count that.

I can list the top ten buildings if you like by A: height, B:Square footage, C:useable square footage (minis elevator stairwells, utilities domes etc) D:residential avaliablity totals E:comercial space totals, F:combined totals, or G:basic volume displacement  (aka like the Chrysler building Dome....takes up a lot of room not rentable)

Sears tower is tall but the top part is tappered...it only makes the top 5 in 2 of the above catigories A: and E: which doesn't it place it #1

just cuase it's the tallest doesn't mean it the largest...which is the question asked

Well before I get spammed out here... 18.gif

It was fault on my part... I really meant to say tallest, rather than largest. But Cjah got my point to the question. So indeed, he will be awarded with +10 points. For future references I will try to reword the questions in such a way that it is easier to understand the question. That was just a minor correction that had to be made, and I understand how you can argue tallest from largest. But indeed, I meant tallest, so Cjah will be awarded those points.

    Cjah! +10!
