After a little work yesterday, I put together this draft. It is, perhaps, not finished. I would like some comments and suggestions please.

Thanks, I noticed one spelling mistake though. If anyone finds any more ...

Very nice! It was entertaining, and easy to follow too.

As far as spelling, you misspelled "Probably" when you add the commercial

I assume you meant "we" instead of "be" when you build the fire station?

Also, maybe I am confused, but you said we zone R$$ for instance, do you mean Medium density instead?

Anyway, this will be a great tutorial for beginners and veterans alike. ;)

This is a very useful tutorial for beginners, although I've never fully agreed with you in terms of how starting a city. I usually start with high-density industry and medium-density residential providing all the necessary services (power, water, education, police...) and after 3-4 months in the red, the city budged goes to black invariably.

Anyways, I've liked very much the emphasis you put on the budgetary issue; I've seen countless times on these forums "my city always goes broken" and this is because most new players don't know yet all the micro-management behind the game, which is a key for success!

Thanks. I tried to use in game terms. The demand chart shows R$ for the wealth level but I felt most people would understant R$ and it is less graphics.

@TekindusT: Well, every man for himself. In this one, I try to take a real world historical approach. I don't always start out this way, either.

LATER: fixed the two spelling errors.

Now the question is does this need more? If it is a good basic tutorial, can anything be added with this approach in mind?

I like it. We are still working on the omnibus but I think this tutorial would be a fine addition.

We can inspire others through witness so that one grows together in communicating. But the worst thing of all is religious proselytism, which paralyzes: “I am talking with you in order to persuade you.” No. Each person dialogues, starting with his and her own identity. The church grows by attraction, not proselytizing.    - Pope Francis

Its good but you are using SPAM farms which do work differently in regards to education and demand to regular farms so you may want to make the tutorial not using the SPAM or by saying at the top.

I quite clearly said the farms were SPAM in the text. I did not intend to have a no-plugins tutorial. The NAM was in there too.

@Meg: It is posted in SC4 General Discussion. It is on my server. Whenever you want, I'll zip it up and send it where ever you want.
