Favourite in-game building

Hello Simtropolis,

As most of you know, there is a huge range of custom made buildings that you can download and use in your cities, but, which one do you like the most? Which one makes you smile when you see it in your cities?

My favorite building is the LG Electronics Building by altuditu.

That's a really hard one considering the thousands of buildings but I would have to agree that the LG Electronics Building is the best, the texturing on it is just so great.

I haven't seen it in game yet per se, but Heblem's New York Times Building is beautiful.

Also, I'm a huge fan of every building of the HKABT

Yes. The HKABT produces very prestigious buildings.

What do you guys usually use for your residential? standard Maxis defaults?

I actually don't mind some of the Maxis buildings. There are a few $$ Residential houses that are ugly looking and I always destroy, but other than that they are pretty good.

I love Mbear's stuff. His rural buildings are great for rural European areas.

For me it's actualy surprisingly hard to choose, but I would say that the various Maxis default shopping malls are something of a favorite once they do decide to pop up in my city (I usualy make them historical and make sure to keep the area around them nice).

Gods shouldn't play favorites. It is a human thing. I don't really have a special building that I admire, but I do loke a lot of the custom content available. Some of them are well-researched and superb.

Yes those buildings are in fact default maxis. I hate the bottom textures of the building though so recently I've went into the lot editor and changed the tiling underneath as well as added porkie's props to it. Looks slot better now because that maxis BAT is absolutely fantastic.

Yes, those are the Maxis default malls. I belive that they come in one style for all of the tilesets, but I will admit they are quite rare. You have to zone a fairly large area for them to grow, if I recall correctly the aprox. lot dimmensions are about 5x7 ingame spaces.

If you mean train stations, I would say the Maxis default 'Grand Centeral' station, which I'm pretty much sure is a reward. Something about its size and appereance. Then again, there probably are better looking stations out there, but considering that I haven't gotten too far into custom content and can't seem to do anything meaningfull with the BAT, this is my favorite for now. Also, I do usually use the Maxis default stuff for residential; some of the houses in the Huston and New York City tilesets are actually pretty good looking.

Grand Central is a tad small though. Three tracks (or six) that converge into one (or two, you chose) track, and the platforms are short too LOL. if it were a little longer I think I would like it, but, it's just too short to be realistic for trains eh?

The Houston set actually has some wicked stuff! LOL. The new york set has good rural/suburban buildings.

Too many to isolate just one but i do have some favourite series.

Deadwoods Servos: absolutely awesome gas stations that I nearly alway make every one that grows historical so they stick around.

Mad Hatter's Small Commercial BATs and NIMBY bats are also amazing and really add depth and realism.

Gascooker's UK houses are so well detailed and realistic.

Debusseyman I feel produces the most gorgeous landmark buildings of anyone.

Yes! Deadwood's Servos are absolutely fabulous, they add they realistic factor into the game eh? (don't judge. it's a canadian site)
