Thanks for the feedback all, we have done another change yesterday afternoon, so hopefully things will start to smooth out and stabilize.

I have been on since about 0800 this morning with no glitches. Whatever you did worked for me, at least.

Everything was working well this morning until 1002 when I got one of those damned Internal Server Erros a couple of minutes ago. I push the reply button in Current Events to the article on the stage collapse. Haven't killed all the problems, but you could see the server slowing down over about half an hour. Does it get tired?

EDIT: After some slowness and acting up around 1000, things are more or less normal now as I sign off.

One note: When I hit the edit button to put this in, the green busy tag hung, and I had to hit escape to back up, which caused all the text to be erased. I paged back to recover. Something is not kopesetic.

Agreed. Pretty slow for me a day or two ago but seems very quick today.

I've just been hit by the 1000 EDT problem for the second day in a row. If the server is running on Zulu time, could this be a time-related problem???

I got a 500 Internal server error trying to open a topic in Bugs and Technical Issues.

Yes, it seems that the site is slowest at around 8 MDT (10 EDT). I got several time-outs when trying to load a thread in the Bugs & Technical Issues.

I can't promise the site will ever be 100% solid. There will be slow-downs from time to time if the server is running one of its maintenance or indexing tasks. The heavy stuff is scheduled for off-peak hours, but regular delta indexing and re-caching does occur during the day. Overall, I do believe the site is much more responsive for a larger percentage of the time than it was.

Something went sour in Bugs and Technical Issues earlier. If you are curious, see my Big report in the Bugs list. The site has been sort of double plus unfunny ever since.

As of a minute ago, I could not open the Current Events list due to repeated Internal Server Errors. I think the server needs a reboot and/or the web site needs to be reindexed.

note for dirk - i suggest you need look at site and find out why slowdowns is happening

If there is a lot of people online, then slowdowns will happen, but when you start getting several internal server errors a day, that is a sign that something needs to be fixed.

Same here, apart from one 500 and a blank response it has been fast(for Simtropolis) and reliable.

Today has been a trial. I got on just before 0800 EDT, and through persistence and perseverance have managed to get some things done. The site has been exceeding slow and up and down like a toilet seat.

Sometimes I think that the site has a problem waking up after being idle overnight.

It is better today, but not out of the woods yet. Too many "server errors".

Got a server error this morning when trying to load a CJ and the site was down for a few minutes at around 9:20AM MDT.
