Can someone point me in the right direction for a tutorial on how to do the RHW-6 neighbor connections? I looked on SC4Devotion and can't find even the right section of the forum. I have seen a couple older you tube vids but i can't follow what they are doing.

This might help for RHW6s...

First, have the route ready to extend to the edge.

RHW61.jpg

Next, drag each side to the edge. A connection should be asked for and accepted.

RHW62.jpg

With both connections made, return to the menu and select the Neighbor Connection icon. Then Tab untill the RHW6 connection piece appears.

RHW64.jpg

Plop that on each side of the highway. Be sure it is oriented in the correct direction.

RHW65.jpg

The final step is to tab untill you have the double arrow interior piece. That is placed between the two sides. Of course, if the two sides are side-by-side, you will not need this piece. Also, if the two sides are wider than one tile, just plopp the double arrow piece all the way across to connect the two sides.

If you're using RHW6c...

Again get the highway ready...

RHW6c1.jpg

Drag all parts to the edge and accept the neighbor connections. Should be three...

RHW6c2.jpg

Go to the menu and select the Neighbor Connection icon. Tab untill the RHW6c piece. Plop it on the end of the highway...

Hope that helps...

Well that explanation is a whole lot simpler than anything I saw. However, It does not work for me. I must have something installed wrong or something. When I drag the RHW to the edge it asks and I accept the connection but the road reverts to the two lane RHW.

EDIT: OK I seem to have been too close to the edge...I started further back and it kept the RH6. However they already had the orange arrows on them. Do I still need the connector pieces? I tried adding them just to see and they both point the same way. (then again so do yours)

How many tiles of RHW6 do you have dragged before the edge? You need a good amount of roadway all ready in place to keep things from "flipping." Also, if the roadway is changing and you have room, try plopping another starter piece on top to see if it will change back.

Edit: Okay... We were posting together. The orange arrows were created when the connections were made. You still need the connection pieces for the paths to be setup properly. And it doesn't matter what direction the orange arrows face.

Wow, could they have made the RHW puzzle pieces any more frustrating to use? Jebus !!

For some reason I always seem to find myself needing to do whatever is the most difficult thing to do whenever I start something like this. All I wanted to do was run a couple expressways through the city before starting to build. Is there some sort of special order to place RHW6 pieces when trying to make a 45% turn? I managed to get one direction to work but can't for the life of me get the pieces to show up to complete the other. I have spent 10k just trying to make one turn in several different piece dropping orders. I can see the pieces I want when out in open grass but they are never available no matter what I do when I get close to the part I want to connect to.

I am so frustrated now I'm just gonna watch a movie...I'll check for responces later.

Thanks for your help above Capt.

I get this problem a lot too. Before making any RHW interchanges or 45 degree roads you have to make sure the ground is completely flat. To flatten it just place 1 tile section of streets where you want it to go. If you are working with a hilly terrain and it makes a big ugly canyon in the middle you can decorate it up with highway walls.

Use the moolah cheat or the BSC Funding Mod.

The RHW-6S curves will be fully draggable in the next version, so you won't have that problem once we release it. Ditto with the RHW-8S curves.

Additionally, if you're getting deconversions to RHW-2, the filler pieces are also a viable option in tight spaces. There's only so much we can do in stabilizing things, generally.
