Well hello. I was wondering if anyone has 1000+ or even more plugins. And could anyone share the folder for me cause im am so confused about downloading seperate mods. I would prefer modpacks. That has lots and lots of mods in them. Just wondering.

Hello :)

There are players with dozens of Gigabytes of plugins, so "1000+" of them is too few :whatevs:

However there is no reason for folder sharing. Just select what you want to use. Take your time to build up your plugin folder :)

"If you try to please everybody, you often times end up pleasing nobody, especially yourself. When somebody offers to do a favor for free, like making a mod for SimCity 4, you shouldn't be overly critical of something generously given to you. In other words, you shouldn't look a gift horse in the mouth." - Twilight Sparkle after playing SimCity

"Being a mayor or a content creator for SimCity 4 is a heavy responsibility, Patrick. Each city and each custom content is like a child, and must be treated as such." - SpongeBob Squarepants after playing SimCity

"Without deviation from the norm, progress is not possible." - Frank Zappa

"The wisest men follow their own direction." - Euripides

Also; sharing such folders would be a violation of the creators rights

People don't post their plugins folders because each person downloads different items for different needs. Besides, you will be too overwhemed if you were to have 9000 different items installed at once.

Trust me, its better to download each plugin one by one than it is to have them all at once. This sets you up for a nice learning curve, and its a great way to explore and understand the community. I can guarentee this method gives you a higher benefit than having everything at once.

    EDIT:

By the way if you're overwhemed by the different number of mods try checking out these threads. :read:

Simply giving credit does not mean permission is given to copy someone else's work.

it would be basicly sharing again in a package than copying :P

If you want to look at this from a legal standpoint then you can't just make a straight copy of plugins as the creators have not given their explicit permission for use in that manner. You are able to share a written list of what you have in plugins and places to find the items available for distribution like the STEX.

The biggest reason IMHO you shouldn't just straight out copy someone else's plugin folder is that by doing so you are taking away from the community that has been building itself across the world for many years now. Most members here seem to me to enjoy helping each other troubleshoot their cities, BATs, mods and occasionally real lives. I encourage you to freely be a member of the community and you will see that with the help of many of us you will unwrap the depth and capability that Sim City still offers on wholesale.

As far as finding mods advice goes. Do lots of window shopping so that as you build up your cities you will say to yourself "I really wish I had this thing for this place," and you will either remember it is available online, be able to ask if it is available and eventually be aided in creating it for yourself.

    The whole idea is insane.

Some mods are incompatible with others. For such a pack, I suppose you would want some guarantee that it would work with any others you might already have. This is utter nonsense. The creators of lots and mods have no obligation to test them beyond their own working environment. It is impossible.

I keep harping on this point, but eventually everyone will get it.

You must test each and every new mod against your existing plugin suite every time you take one. Only the end-user can test this because the problem in general is like Fermat's last conjecture. It is an NP complete problem, which means it can never be solved in any amount of real time.

It is far better to test your plugin suite one at a time as you acquire them rather than having to stop playing and test the entire suite by binary search if you mess up without noticing what you did, and find a crash later. Every player should have a test region in which they try new things out, and in the case of very large mods like the NAM, get in some practice before finally considering the add final.
