Hi all,

Sorry if this is a repeat but I have searched and found nothing!

I really need BSC Mega Props CP1, but can only find it in .exe format, which is no good for Mac. I've tried Filejuicer to no avail.

Has anyone got the files extracted from the exe that they could send me, or suggest where I can find them?

Cheers!

Tim.C.

Sorry but it only comes in .exe format and we are not allowed to send files from one user to another without the original creator's permission. In this case it is c.p.

BSC stuff isn't good for MAC, since BSC requires everything that exists in the LEX to be in an .exe format. It also includes SC4D members uploading their stuff here, so it doesn't require further.

It isn't CP, its actually CycleDogg. c.p is his BSC name, but in ST he is Cycledogg. He's no longer active now though.

FileJuicer should work, and there is no reason why it wont.

I suggest redownloading filejuicer just to make sure that it is still work for you.

Other than that you could also download it on a windows machine and run it on that then get the files, but thats too much work for nothing.

Hamish, that's exactly what I did in the end. Not too much aggro and it worked perfectly!

Cannot get FileJuicer to recognise the .exe as an archive auto-extract file… Using MBPro.   Anyone got experience of how to make this happen?

I had to install Wine Bottler on my computer to get the .exe installers to work, but once I did, they work beautifully. Check out this webpage: http://winebottler.kronenberg.org. You may have to do some stuff with the terminal, but there's nothing truly difficult about it, and it wipes out the entire aggravation of those *cough*idiotic*cough* BSC installers.

I tend to let the auto-installers put the files wherever the default location is, then copy them manually to my actual Plugins folder, so as a bonus I have a duplicate setup of all plugins, and can keep copies of various terrain/rock/water mods without having to delete things.

Keka has worked better for me recently. But when I need to extract .exe files I tend to just stick a flash drive into a PC.

I've had problems with all extractors sometimes breaking down .dat files into much smaller portions. When I was trying to install girafe's "aesculus" flora, instead of the four files the Windows installer produces, I had an entire folder of over a hundred badly organized files which still never loaded properly into SC4.
