Rush hour upgrade

Maybe it's asked earlier, but is there a upgrade from the original game to the rush hour expansion?

Cause most of the downloads wouldn't work with the original game.

Is there anyone who's got an answer?

I'm pretty sure you have to buy Rush Hour, there are no upgrades for the original game (as far as I know of).

Like you said, most of the custom content here on ST is only compatible with Rush Hour. So it's definitely worth buying the Rush Hour Expansion pack!

At this point, getting the Deluxe Edition/Rush Hour is a must. AFAIK, the standard SC4 game isn't even sold anywhere at this point in time, and the vast majority of custom content available is designed to be used in SC4 Rush Hour.

Rush Hour is an expansion pack that makes the original game into Deluxe. All things considered these days, I would just purchase Deluxe as it removes your dependency on the old disks for reinstallations.

Vanilla SC4 predates the BAT tool for making custom buildings. Custom buildings will not work properly with flat-out vanilla SC4, and vanilla SC4 only supports some custom lots.

This is from the FAQ for EA's official exchange:

Q: Why won't some lots from the Exchange load properly?

A: Lots created using either SimCity 4 Deluxe or the Rush Hour Expansion Pack may not function correctly for users when loaded into the SimCity 4. If you are running SimCity 4 on your computer, and are encountering problems opening downloaded lot files, you may want to consider buying a copy of Rush Hour to ameliorate this problem.

You can buy the Deluxe Edition (which is basically the same thing as SC4 + Rush Hour) for $10-$20 in most places. Steam sells the Deluxe Edition, and last I checked, it's still on store shelves in places like Best Buy or Wal-Mart.

i actually got my at best buy for my birthday so you can try there it was the deluxe edition btw so good luck
