Some creepy mayor's rating

Well i start off my dream city, canals, highways, parks, with a developed healthcare system and police coverage and space for more parks, an education system, and fire protection. As i speed the game up and add my education, my mayor rating plummets 4 bars below the middle. What could be the problem? I check air polution and use artificial trees and simgoobers airpolution cleaner to remove any traces of polution, as well as enact some ordiances. The rating drops annother bar. I check crime, it was low, i add more parks, and the land value is high. Then i get a riot, after stopping that riot i lower the taxes, seemed to calm them sims down a little, now my taxes are 6.8, causing me to need some money trees for financial aid temporarlily. I keep satisfiying demand, and providing ALL the services neccesary, as well as a good monorail system tied with a good bus system. Slowly the mayor rating increases to one bar above the middle, but now the mayor rating is deacreasing AGAIN! Its getting kinda frustrating and i'm completley stumped on the answer, and i was wondering if a glitch or a bugged mod or dowload is causing this. Any help? -All help is apreciated, Thanks

What kind of parks were you using? Were they custom? I remember someone once telling me about this one park set that was bugged so your mayor rating would plummet if you removed them. I can't remember what set they were off the top of my head, but if I see the name I'd probably remember.

Hmm... I'm using BSC deadwood's raised park series, some billboards from here, dont remember the name of them, some porkisimo plazas, simgoober public pools, urban billboards by dusktrooper and equinox, CFC open paved plazas, peg's seawall things and food courts, CLC billboards, and yeah thats about it.

What are the occupancies of your city buildings? I wouldn't be surprised if one or more of your schools/hospitals/etc. is way over capacity. Also, if Sims have to travel long distances for any of these things, rating will drop. Also check to make sure some vital road tile wasn't accidentally deleted somehow. Do your advisors say anything? Do you have a sim in your city who might have a helpful opinion? What is your road maintenance funding like? Garbage?

Also do you have any NIMBY bats installed like Simgoober's or Mad Hatter's. I use these in my cities and have found that if they grow too often I get small riots in my small towns.

Accualy all my schools, hospitals, etc are way under capacity, and my road budget is 100%, as well i use the gsmails blackhole garbage system, never had a problem. About the NIMYBY thing (or how ever its spelled) thats accualy a good idea, i'll have to check if any lots have these. But Land value is high, yet mayors rating is low, i'm not sure if NIMYBY affects land value. *Update, sims currently rate me 2, i have a pop.of 112,373 poor sims, 153,157 middle sims, and 33,734 high wealth sims*

Here is a quote from the readme file of one of my NIMBY uploads...yes, there is a negative mayor effect...

Since they're NIMBY, they also have some NIMBY effects to go with them; these effects are slightly less than those found in SimGoober's NIMBY lots, and from my testing they haven't shown to throw things off in the game. Since a lot of the buildings in this set are 2x1, they're not going to be popping up a lot in the deeper zoned areas of your city. There is a negative park effect of -20 over 6 tiles (affecting residentials in the area), as well as a negative landmark effect of -20 over 6 tiles (affecting commecials in the area.) In addition, there is a negative mayor rating effect of -25 over 20 tiles. Nothing too major...however, if you do have problems, then go ahead and bulldoze them if they grow too much.

That said, the one NIMBY building that I have a problem with out of all my plug-ins is one of SimGoober's - I think it's Steve's Adult Shop, or something to that effect. It grows quite often in my cities, sometimes in rows (much like his Goober's Nuts building), and I find that if I don't weed through my cities often, they overgrow and start causing trouble.

The set I was thinking of was actually this CdS Waterfront sets, not exactly a park. You don't happen to have had that, have you?

Other then that, I don't suppose I can really be more help. But you're in good hands with the rest of these guys, I'm sure you'll solve the problem soon.

A screenshot of the mayor rating map might help. If there are any areas where the rating is particularly low, a shot of the area might help. Have you checked all graphs (crime, pollution, waste lying around...)?

I think we really need a screen shot. NIMBY is an acronym for Not In My Back Yard. It has an anti-acronym of YIMBY.

Really is a problem. What happens if you remove all plugins (ignoring brown boxes)? Can you play it in that condition, and does the situation reverse? If so, you will have a nice big testing problem on your plugins.

I'll play around with the plugins, maybe remove some of the more recent ones that could have caused it, as i have never experienced this issue before with my older plugins, and update: Mayor rating has just dropped to -12, just after i added my subway it rose +1, and then quickly dropped -6 to -12. Anyone also know well known mods known to mess mayor rating up or those with the NIMBY effects?

Suggest not shooting in the dark any more. There are threads around showing how to binary search your plugins for a bad one. If you have less than 1025 plugins, you only have to do a maximum of 9 tests. It is worth doing for complete peace of mind. If you use a sandbox region, your present regions should remain intact until you have identified the offender(s).

Somy's Angel Statue landmark does something unsettling if it becomes immortal: It becomes a source of extreme unhappiness until it's killed. Your current issues could be related to a formally positive building having gone immortal. Meaning, you need to hunt it down and kill it.

Where could i find such a tread to run tests on my system? that would be helpful. I also tried running a new game, but the city worked perfectly fine, with many of the same parks. The only ones i didnt use was: BSC raised park bridge over street joint, a dowloaded intl' airport, which i later deleted due to its look, and a hole digging lot i used for my canals. Its rather odd and i am begining to speculate if the airport deleted correctly or if the hole digging lots had some effect with the game. Remember as soon as i started "Play" The mayors rating shot down in a blink of an eye, barley before people started to move in, it was very strange. Sometimes i feel i want a professional to take a look at my city, but i'm still searching for a culprit. Thanks for the help from all of you. Has anyone else experienced this issue at all?

Some ordinances lower mayor rating (like youth curfew), although they should never cause the problem your having.

Same here, but I managed to solved it by ploping SOMY Angelic Statue and my mayor rating goes up the roof.
