I am a type 2 diabetic, so I eat six times a day.  Right now, I am nibbling on my lunch time dessert, a hermit cookie.  The local market here makes fabulous ones, sugar and all.

I wanted to restart posting here:

My dinner for tonight was Veal Cutlets with mashed potatoes and spinach dip form my grandmothers place.

For the cooking discussion, A Nonny Moose has the cooking thread up here.

This should become like a Meal Diary, that would be very cool to see it come togteher. Like every day we each

post what we ate all day and see the different meals each people eat

Right now I am sucking on an English mint.  It is my ten o'clock sugar to keep my blood sugar happy.

Actually, the Moose Factory is a virtual bar and grill.  Drop in any time for some virtual victuals and conversation.  The Moose Factory Cooking Discussion has turned into a how-to thread in many ways.  Feel free to add your recipes, opinions, and techniques.

You are most welcome to both threads.  If you like science fiction/fantasy you will like the main Moose Factory, and we will be glad to help you increase both your food knowledge and other points you may want to bring up.  This is, after all, the social networking part of Simtropolis and it is a lot more private than Facebook or Twitter.

The cooking discussion thread is for people who cook or observe cooking and enjoy its results.  Participate in any way you like.

As for this topic:  I have just finished eating my mid-morning snack of two hermit cookies and a cup of slightly sweetened hazelnut coffee I brewed myself.  Diabetics eat six times a day.  Keeping that ol' blood sugar balanced is a pleasurable task.

Was that a fasting blood test, or just a random one? High glucose is nothing to get excited about, it is the hbA1C test (three month glucides) that really matters. I am a diabetic, and I know about this. You can spike your glucose level just by eating a slice of bread, but the hemoglobin test gives a three month average. It is from the amount of glucose stuck to your red blood cells, which only live about 120 days. So what did he say about that item? Our countries use different measures, but here if the hbA1C gets much above 7 everyone gets excited.

I just had a twelve grain bagel with plain cream cheese sprinkled with dessicated dill weed. Delicious. Probably spiked my glucose up to 9 or so.

Don't be bamboozled. If they were worried about you, you would be slugging down Lucosaid for a glucose tolerance test. However, at your age, you don't want to be a Type I diabetic. It is a pain in the tokus, and a big risk for your pancreas (sweetbreads).

Hehe with about 5 computers here in the studio I take great precautions not to bring drinks near the mix board, I have a seperate little tray that comes out under the desk. I am currently eating a CLIFF bar, kinda good....my mom said it is good for me. LOL
