Buying Tomorrow, I have some questions

 Hi there

I'll be getting the game tomorrow for Christmas and I have several questions.

1. I have an ATI Radeon 4200 (HD) How will this run the game? Graphics are a huge thing for me, and I WON'T play if it's really bad.

2. Is this like Sim City 4, where you can't go a couple of minutes without going bankrupt? When I had Sim City 4, no matter WHAT I did I would go bankrupt in a snap, I never got to enjoy it.

3. What's the variety of custom content out there? Because I'm a CC fanatic xD Are there custom buildings?

4. Does this have wildlife like Sim City 4 had? You know, where you could release wildlife out into the wilderness, and occasionally you would see like, a bear or something... I hope that makes sense xD But anyways I liked that

5. How long does this keep you busy? I'm a person who is not easily amused whatsoever with a ton of time to kill.

Thanks in advance

1. There are tests to show you how well your computer will run games, including CXL (LE, and 2011).

2. I only bankrupt lost SimCity 4 once. I had to start from the last save and cut funding to all my services and lower transportation funding to 95%. Cities XL is easier, budgetwise than SC4.

3. There are recolored buildings, roads, and vehicles. There are unlocked buildings, custom parks, custom roads, and unlocked roads.

4. Wildife was not included but livestock was unlocked through CC.

5. Hours and Hours. I set alarms to keep me from staying up too late.

Ocram's Razor: Though "more things shouldn't be used than are necessary," they're just too fun to pass up! Expect many verbose arguments from me. I will try to write abstracts before or short summaries after from now on.

Words to live by:
"Now there are varieties of gifts, but the same Spirit. But to each one is given the manifestation of the Spirit for the common good. For to one is given the word of wisdom through the Spirit, and to another the word of knowledge according to the same Spirit; to another faith by the same Spirit, and to another gifts of healing by the one Spirit... But one and the same Spirit works all these things, distributing to each one individually..." 1 Corinthians 4-11

"Do not worry about tomorrow; for tomorrow will care for itself. Each day has enough trouble of its own." Matthew 6:34
"Do not judge so that you will not be judged. For in the way you judge, you will be judged; and by your standard of measure, it will be measured to you." Matthew 7:1-3

Thanks for the reply! Now how exactly would I be able to get the livestock?

And an additional question: How long does it take to install?

Like most games, it takes a long time to install.

I have a Radeon HD 4850, and the game crawls. Unfortunately, graphics cards have little to do wtih it ... the game is extremely CPU intensive, and does not efficiently use all cores, so when you start getting above just 100,000 population or so, on my Phenom 9600 (4 x 2.4 GHz cores) with 4 GB of RAM, it gradually gets so badly lagged that its nigh unplayable. 15.gif Its better to have a fast dual proc than a multi-core.

I seldom had any problems with my city finances in SC4. It seems I struggle in this game once the city has about 100k people or more unless I have every resource in that city. And then I spend all my time developing the resources instead of buillding the city. Any city I have built that didn't have fuel, water, and food production in them, lose money after 100k people.

A terrabyte of RAM? That is not possible! RAM is not the same as your Memory. My laptop has 320GB memory and 4GB of RAM. For CXL 2GB is recommended

I believe that the mistakes you are making in Simcity 4 that causes you to quickly go bankrupt are going to slaughter you on Cities XL 2011. The number one mistake that players make is placing more services than the city can afford. Read some of the tutorials and stuff to help you.

@bowserchomp Yeah, I had played a city once when i placed too many services when I could not afford it. Note: Unless you wanna kill your place, DO NOT pamper your citizens until they're rich. Got that?

Note: Unless you play expert mode in CIties XL, in either editions, it should not be terribly hard for beginners to go over their budget. Unless ya build too many roads. 3.gif

    1. I have a pretty *****ty graphics card, barely above the minimum requirements to play the game. How will this run the game? As a walking clich
