I've not heard these rumours, they're likely just rumours as the city building genre isn't very popular, so a console version would be expensive to make just for a few people. However, there are a few console based city builders. Tropico 3 is on consoles, it's ported from the PC and is almost the same as the PC version but there are some limitations. EA has also released Simcity Creator for Nintendo's Wii and DS, I've heard that Creator is an OK game.  Another game of this genre is Sid Meir's Civilisation.  I believe there is a demo for Tropico and Civilisation on the Xbox Live Marketplace, you should try them if you have access to it.

A Kingdom for Keflings is a kind of medieval city builder ... ... ... well it's cute and not very expensive ...

Civ for the 360 is a streamlined version but is quite fun 4.gif

Will have to look for Tropico...

You don't.  It's not possible.  At least, according to my friend who worked on XBox development.

It IS possible, but Microsoft don't like it at all.  They'll ban these systems from connecting to Live and possibly other external connections.  I remember people used to buy Xboxes and install windows onto them as it was cheaper than buying a PC or laptop.

You are probably thinking about the original XBox 1. Microsoft plugged that hole for the 360.

Mootilda is right, the 360 out of the box is not able to have windows installed because this time they installed hardware to prevent it instead of just software like the first XBOX. You can buy a cheap mod chip though that will allow windows to be installed on a 360 but it will certainly void any warranty and I would think using any online XBOX services would be pretty tough because all the commercially available mod chips are known to microsoft and they can check your system when you try to log in.

A high level court ruling here in the US said this year though that you do have the legal right to mod any hardware/software you own but that companies do not necessarily have to provide services to modded units.

Forget aboutt the Xbox 360 and just get a desktop PC that meets the requirements of Cities XL 2011. They are not even that expensive.
