Welcome to Evergreen

The state of Evergreen was founded by Thomas Holden in 1893. The name Evergreen came from Holden because the whole land was covered in fir and pine trees and made the whole state look green all year long. Today, the state is filled with cities and farmlands, but the state still looks green in many areas.

Region Overviewevergreen.jpg

Welcome to Evergreen. Established in 1891 by Thomas Holden, the State of Evergreen is Famous for its fir and pine trees. This picture above shows what the region looked like when it was founded. Native Americans have roamed through these lands for many many years before and have a big impact on this land as many of its towns and land features have been named after them.

Map of Land Features

evergreenlandfeatures.jpg

The Sehoo and Chelamette tribes were major tribes back in the 1800s and still are well known today. The Laminee Mountains, named after the Laminee tribe and is the major mountain chain in the state, separates the Sehoo and Chelamette Valleys. The lower Sehoo Valley is filled with mostly cities today, the major cities being Evergreen, which is the state capital, and Firwood as it's largest city. The Chelamette Valley is mostly farmland and rural towns with exception of the city of Chelamette, which is the biggest city in the valley. The Naminak River was once home to the Naminak tribe, but now it is the home of the most industrial harbors in the whole region which is located on the southern tip of Morbeck Island. Mount Iris is a volcanic mountain located in the Southern Laminee Mountains and is the tallest mountain in the state standing at 5830 feet. West of the Chiston Mountains, you have the whole coastline of the Columbus Ocean, where you have Andis Bay-a tourist trap, Paches River-a popular fishing spot, and Delevan Island-a small island where camping is allowed. Stay tuned for more updates and information.

County Map

evergreencounties.jpg

It can't be a state without counties, so here is a map with the list of counties and county lines.

That's all I have for today. Please stay tuned for more updates.

That's all I have for today. I hope you all enjoyed this teaser. Stay tuned.

The Central Business District looks good. Good use of the one way roads. And I like that interstate interchanges. Much better than anything I've made with the RHW! 3.gif

    Good update.

I love you region view, your map quite good there are much possibilities. Not to hilly but flat enough for big cities. Many shores for beaches and industrial docks.

    Cant wait to see more.

wwetom1: RHW is tricky, but I prefer to use it than the ground and elevated highways. They look more realistic.

jakehh: There just might be one.

Cleaner475: Thanks. I'm trying to make it look as good as possible.

Norby(ToG): Thanks, there's a lot more to come since this is a big region.

kakado_to_save: Best CJ of the year, I would doubt mine will be, but who knows. Thanks though.

    Evergreen City

    welcometoevergreensign.jpg

Welcome to Evergreen City. This is the State Capitol of Evergreen and one of the largest cities in the state with the population of 101,082. Located in the middle of the Lower Sehoo Valley, Evergreen City is not only the capitol, but it is also home to the Evergreen City-Firwood International Airport (KECF), the busiest airport in the whole region. The city however is going through an economical issue as the population isn't growing as much as it is supposed to be, not only that, but there have been a bunch of riots going on lately. You will notice a bunch of empty lots through out the city. The city is also split into two as it is along a county line. The western part of the city is west of the river and is the city itself in Monroe County, as the eastern part is East Evergreen City, which is east of the river in Custer County.

    downtownevergreencity.jpg

Here is a birdseye view of Downtown Evergreen City. This central business district has an easy, but highly congested access from Interstate 17. The side streets need more improvement than what it has now, as there are only a few roads than streets. The Norbit Twin Bridges (aka the 30th and 31st St Bridges) are the main arterials from downtown to the eastside.

    holdenplaza.png

Here's a view of Holden Plaza in the center of downtown. The main arterials through downtown meet here at the plaza. A lot of congestion happens here during peak periods, but as you can see in the picture, traffic is light after the morning rush hour. The city has been planning on putting a roundabout here, but the vote had failed during the last election.

    evergreencityfirwoodint.png

Evergreen City-Firwood International Airport. This surprisingly is the only place in this part of the Eastside that is busy. As you can tell, the lots throughout this part of the town has not grown much than planned. Interstate 54 was widened from 6 to 8 lanes from I-17 to I-317 in Pendale because they expected that the area was going to grow. Instead, it just made the freeway more empty from downtown.

    ivensonbridges.png

The Ivenson Twin Bridges are a main artery across the Sehoo River as it carries I-54 from the southern part of the city to the eastside. When the Meyer Bridge was being rebuilt a few years back, I-54 was backed up for miles during rush hour. The speed limit is 60 going across the bridge, but during those times, the fastest you could get going across the bridge during rush hour was 35. Today, the Meyer Bridge is used daily for thru-traffic and those getting to the college, as it is also used as an alternate route when the twin bridges are jammed up with traffic.

    ueecc.png

On the bottom of this picture, you can see University of Evergreen-Evergreen City Campus (UEECC). The main campus is located in Saint Lynn, but this is the other campus for those who can't handle the longer commutes or can't afford the other campus. The university is in an area not too hard to find as you just get off the 17 and take Exit 1 off of I-54.

    152evergreenfirwoodrd.png

Here we have one of the busiest intersections in Evergreen City. State Route 152 @ Evergreen-Firwood Rd. SR-152 is a well used highway that starts off from the west side of the county all the way into Custer County meeting at I-317 in Hayden. The Evergreen-Firwood Rd is a main arterial that starts off in Firwood as an expressway but then ends up as a busy road as it enters into Evergreen City zipping through restaurants and shopping centers. (I apologize for the red blue and green boxes. I think there was a dependancy missing from the camlot packs. I will check that as soon as possible.)

    northevergreencity.png

Here is the overview of the northern part of the city. From this point of view, you can see the industrial park in the center as well as some shopping centers along the northern part of the Evergreen-Firwood Rd including Wal-Mart and Costco. There are a lot of residential areas here, some that are still under developement and renovation. (Again, I apologize for those Red Blue and Green Boxes)

    capitolmall.png

If you exit off I-17 and follow SR -152 Eastbound, You will then find Evergreen Way. Turn right and go across the tracks and you will see the Capitol Mall on your left. Opened up in 1982, the Capitol Mall has been home to many franchise from big ones like Nordstrom and Sears to small ones like Gamestop, Pac Sun, and Hot Topic. Outside the mall, you have many other local businesses and franchises with streets in a unique but confusing outline. Check out the mall, it's great for kids, teens, and adults too.

    richmondmeyer.png

South of the Airport, you will find an area under developement near the intersection of Meyer and Richmond. With the economy bad, there hasn't been many houses being built. The city does not plan to make more neighborhoods until all the ones that have been started are filled.

    sachetiliff.png

You don't have to take I-54 from the Airport to Downtown, go to the exit by Sachet Road and head towards the west. The road then heads north and you then go by this developement by Sachet and Iliff. The commute to downtown sometimes takes less than what it will take via I-54. Sadly, this neighborhood is really loud with the planes going by every 10 minutes. It is really cheap to live here.

    Your Vote Counts

The county of Monroe is planning on making the Evergreen-Firwood Rd also known as Buisness Loop 17. The plus side about it is that it will be easy for tourists to get to businesses and back on to the freeway. The minus side is that it will open up more traffic. So the vote is yours. Yes or No?

    Happy Holidays Everyone!

That's a nice airport you made. Doubt any of the residents right next to it like it, though!

I wouldn't think so either. Maybe that explains why not many of those lots have been filled up.

Interesting city... I like your use of the road-widening mods and that you number/name a lot of your streets.
