I'd describe it as kind of like an odd parallel universe version of America. It feels a lot the same, yet very different as well. The big thing culturally is that everyone in Canada is a lot more laid back and polite. At least compared to New York.

I'm wondering what the "total welfare" line is about. It doesn't go up when you donate simoleons or have simoleons donated to you, and it's been zero for everyone I've checked. And why bother listing both total net worth and total simoleons if they're always the same? We don't have other asset options.

You can, if you have few enough simoleons, apply for and receive welfare from the site. It's under "Quick Cash", along with loans. I'd say it's zero because there's been no need for anyone to apply for any yet.

And something odd: the total net worth is one simoleon fewer than the total number of simoleons.
