There's a free shuttle bus from my residential hall to the university, so... $0.

In high school, the weekly train ticket cost somewhere around $20, so about $80 a month then. And that was for a 62km trip with optional bus from the station to school, on the days it wasn't too delayed.

To search for the ideal city today is useless. For all cities are different. Each one has its own spirit, its own problems, and its own pattern of life. As long as the city lives, these aspects continue to change. Thus to look for the ideal city is not only a waste of time but may be seriously detrimental. In fact, the concept is obsolete; there is no such thing.

Um... gas is ~$3.00/gallon. That's how I get from A to B. I do walk when I can, but since I moved out of the old neighborhood, not much is close enough to walk to.

The bus system in Allegheny County is rubbish. If you want to got from one location outside of the downtown Pittsburgh area to another, you have to go downtown first and then get another route out. It's a time waster. Our light rail system is also very limited.

Pittsburgh's light rail for whatever reason only goes south out of the city. Nothing east, west, or north.

There is a short extension to the north side under construction, though...

Well, I wasn't referring to city buses... was referring to my school district's buses 3.gif Though Cleveland-Akron has a decent bus system. And Cleveland has a few light rail lines along the lake, Tower City, and the airport. Aside from that, its all cars. And its not even hard to find parking in Cleveland 3.gif

I don't know what to put here anymore.

There's a light rail plan for the Gold Coast. Construction has started, and it will eventually be extended to my local train station to create a transit hub.

Chicago has loads of light rail...and heavy rail...and two airports...and lots of buses...tons of cab too...bike lanes are popping up all over the place...subways are there too, can't forget though...you could drive, but it's fairly crowded...and so, I walk, after taking a train downtown, that is.

I'd like to visit the actual city, rather than the brief stay I had outside it between flights.

    A bit, yeah.

I get a monthly transit pass, which is $39/month for students. It's cheap (cheaper than Duke's anyway), and it allows me to get on Baltimore's buses, metro and light rail, so it pays for itself quickly. Now if Baltimore would just get on with making more light rail and metro lines for me to ride, cause it's really hard to get to some places in Baltimore, without waiting forever for a bus that, for some reason, services the entire area.

O'Hare is...the 2nd busiest airport in the world, last I checked. Not sure about it now though, might have changed.

@Un, wait...we have more then two? Are you sure about that? Cuz I only know of the two that are within the city limits...Unless that was a joke I missed. 3.gif

Chicago is fairly interesting, I think. My favourite place I've ever been, although I haven't been all over the world...yet.

Oh, and Larks, I was reading the Youtube comments (I don't know why, don't ask!!) of the Rolling Stones song, Sympathy for the Devil, and this one guy was claiming that the Stones either covered the song (badly) or made it for Call of Duty Black Ops...even though the song is...40 years old now? So yea, it reminded me of you. 3.gif

No joke. 3.gif All the airports I named have the name "Chicago" in them, but are out of Chicago's city limits. Chicago Rockford is the only one that I listed that has commercial service too, all the rest are private/reliever airports.

And places I've stayed at for 2 or more nights (I dont want to include the cities we have stayed overnight during roadtrips):

    Thunder Bay, ON

    Parry Sound, ON

    Barrie, ON

    Collingwood, ON

    Kenora, ON

    Nashville, TN

    Mobile, AL

    Savannah, GA

    Orlando, FL

    Key West, FL

    Tampa, FL

    Brownsville, TX

    Corpus Christi, TX

    Duluth, MN

    Orlando, FL

    Minneapolis, MN

Places I'm going to this summer (summer 2011):

    Ottawa, ON

    Montreal, QB

    Moncton, NB

    Charlottetown, PEI

Boston, MA (< I've probably messed up someof these state codes 3.gif )
