Does this have the same problems as the Euro texture mod?
    If not, I'm downloading!

great work jono 44.gif are there any peieces you have not created new textures for yet??

just one suggestion: you could also remove the two crosswalk lines from the road-to-street transition piece 1.gif as i feel it shouldn't have really been there in the first place on the Maxis textures 2.gif

second small suggestion: you could add an upside-down white tall traingle to the street endpieces - just before the give-way road markings

lastly: are any of these from the original thread likely to be inlcuded in the future??? (if not already included) 1.gif

rumble or anti-skid tarmac on approaches to junctions AND crosswalks? this would be great

optional bus lane on one-way roads or avenues? 9.gif would love to see this one!

black tarmac for the streets? 1.gif

    diagonal railroad crossing?

SLOW road marking: on approach (not too close) to junctions and sharp bends?

and direction arrow markings on roads (but not streets) right before intersections on roads, one-way roads or avenues?

edcase2k4-thugangel1983 - I will do the road textures first and then try to do the extra bits.

Non skid surfacing - At the moment i don't no how to do this, it would need an extra tile fore the skid surfacing.

Bus lane - You could probalby do this but i doubt it would be functional.

Asphalt Streets - I am not doing this, it would have to be part of another mod, anyway the streets in the UK where i live are grey.

Diagonal Railway Crossings I think this has been done.

Slow Painted Sign - This could be a plobable lot but i could include it somewhere.

You could help if you wanted to. I need help here.

    junction1.png border=0

Doing the junction for the Street T junction. If you can do it put it in a separate dat file, then if it will interfere with other street mods you can take it out.

    Thanks, Jono0144.gif

BUS LANES: i guess this is a bit too involved as it would require more than just textures; but new path files too for EVERY single one-way road and avenue texture so that only buses may enter ones with a bus lane. i don't know if anyone actually wants to work on a Bus Lane mod - but i guess it would need to be a seperate mod to this one 1.gif

SLOW road marking: again i guess this would too involved to make it appear automatically; as the mod would need to determine where to place it. however a ploppable would be good!! 1.gif

i may be able to help you with textures but i don't have the time to do too much. what is currently being worked on??

i also notice that the first photoshopped picture i linked has a traffic island at the top of the shot! 9.gif have these already been made by anyone or was that photoshopped too?? i would like to see ploppable traffic islands

i could help better if there is a way to convert all network textures and save all textures at once rather than individually as i find this extremely time consuming. changing the textures to UK ones is the quick part 3.gif i don't have no quarm with dong that

the only way i see functional bus lanes happening is if there are others willing to work on adding it as an entire new road type :? using the ANT most likely (like diagonal streets). i'm not sure how else it can be done personally but my modding knowledge is not up to scratch 2.gif

    BTW i sent u a PM jono

    Hey Ed!9.gif

Would it not be possible to alter the avenues to accomodate a bus lane, like the turning lane mod where they pretty much removed the middle island and replaced it with a road? or is this impossible?

omggg i just lost my entire post i had written 32.gif

i'll just summarise what i said 'cause i can't be arsed writing all the details again 3.gif

i think there is a few possible different ways bus lanes could be done - but i do think they will need new paths whichever way is chosen. there is a lot which you can plop and only allows certain traffic to pass through. how this was done however: i have no idea! but it may have had a modified path. we would need to do the same thing but block anything but buses entering that particular lane!

all in all, it would most likely have to be a job for a modding team of a reasonable size..

EDIT oh yes i remember now: also it wouldn't be able to be available as an optional addition if created in the same way as the Avenue Turning Lanes. not without creating an additional network as i said before :|

You could just have a dedicated bus-lane. This is a two way road that only allows busses (and taxis) down it.

Failing that, a guided busway. Has anyone been to Leeds?

Saying that, this could be one for cogoeo's road top mass transit mod.

guided busways would work great as puzzle pieces, GLR style. i just wonder if its possible to only have buses running on it and whether the automata will reflect that. i remember those bus only lots and cars still went on them

Could that be done like a part of the busstop for oneway streets? Maybe with overhanging textures ?

please try to direct Bus-Lane discussion to this new thead 1.gif

    Bus Lane discussion thread

    thanks 9.gif

btw Jono i have been working on some of my own UK road textures.. i hope to show in-game screenshots when i have made some more progress 1.gif my method for getting them in-game though is not user-friendly but it will at least show how they look. someone else would need to create the plugin which uses these new textures as i can't do that part... i would also be willing to work on other ploppable features such as SLOW painted on the road, and ploppable traffic islands 1.gif but i have no idea how to make them a ploppable Lot which can be placed on roads

to make it you would require a transport enabled lot on a road with stripes that are put into a DAT on and image file and plonk it into the plugins folder and appears in the lot editor., or alternitavely you could make the stripes in gmax.

yes a zebra crossing wouldn't be too hard to make, neither would traffic calming measures such as these:
    measures.jpg
so long as it is possible to give traffic from a certain direction priority in the same way a normal intersection does. e.g. when a street has a T junction with a road, Simcity gives the road priority. this will just have to be done but giving priority to traffic passing through in a certain direction. do any modders know if this is possible?

another one would be width-restriction posts 1.gif these would simply need to be a BAT structure plopped onto a road, the same as the example above; but would need to block all HGV (freight) traffic
