I've heard about one square lots that serve as an airport so people can get a boost to commerce without having to deal the the large spaces being taken up by airports. I looked on the STEX, but I can't find anything.

You may have seen a reference to this lot (Link) by Suplado, however, I'm not sure if it is functional any longer as one of the dependencies is no longer available. You might check out the Functional Airport set (Link). It includes a lot that appears as a bus stop but functions as an airport. It is a LEX download, so you will need to be registered there if not.

I actually like the big airports. Although I only use London City style airports for high density places.

Most of the airport pieces I use are SCAG and RMIP and the game does not recognize my huge detailed eye candy airports as an airport and keeps telling me, "Business Travelers Clamor for Airport Glamor." A one square airport would solve this!

My favourite is the functional airports set at https://sc4devotion.com/csxlex/lex_filedesc.php?lotGET=1664. There are some bus stops in there that function as both bus stops and airports (on one tile). There are a few dependencies, but they are all still available.
