Yay! Now I'm free from school for a week so there will be alot of updates this week.

The latest new is that the population grew past the half million mark. Currently the number's on 540 000 citizens.

On the building side there's not so many big news. The coty is growing and I've started on some suburbs, but nothing I'll show you today.

So I'll just give you some "standard" pics and in the end some stats on the public transport system.

    cxl_screenshot_gapado%20city_32.jpg

    Downtown and Lower  West side

    cxl_screenshot_gapado%20city_33.jpg

An updated pic of Liberty Park, where a new Concert Hall is under construction.

    cxl_screenshot_gapado%20city_34.jpg

    A pic from Downtown.

And some stats on the public transport:

    Bus lines: 5

    Line 1: 76% Regular bus

Line 2: 58% Dubbel decker bus

    Line 3: 42% Regular bus

    Line 4: 50% Mini bus

Line 5: 53% Dubbel decker bus

    Metro lines: 3

    Blue line: 67% Small metro

    Yellow line: 50% Regular metro

Green line: 41% Dubbel decker metro

More pics later this week! 9.gif

So like i said in the previous post I fixed the preblem and now I've been playing for a while.

One big thing is the new landmark of the coast.

    cxl_screenshot_gapado%20city_38.jpg

And here's some pics from Liberty Park:

    cxl_screenshot_gapado%20city_37.jpg

    Then The Olovson Memorial

And lastly the new concert hall, The Berwald Concert Hall

Also the first suburb is growing up in the southeast parts. It's called Camden.

I think it's a great city, but I'd prefer a city with is own feel. To be honest it feels a bit "Marinoranised".

    I hope this tip helps.

Thanks guys 2.gif It's your comments that keep this CJ alive 3.gif so don't be shy to tell me what you think! 9.gif

@Jesse Swiss: Thanks man! I'm glad you like it 4.gif

@VirtualMe: Thank you 4.gif Yes those maps where great 3.gif I think I'll have to put something together for Garnica too 2.gif

@Damastius: I understand what you mean and I agree on you with the city's own feel. The reference to Marinora is kinda dellibirate couse I wanted the same feel to this city. But of course with its own twist. I think it will be less like Marinora when I get out to the suburbs. Thanks for your feedback! 9.gif

I haven't been playing for a while now, there's been other games calling my name. But I hope to get some time with Garnica City tomorrow and hope to get and update up tomorrow night. It might not be a huge update, but as soon as the guys over at the UCXLJ shows some sign of life I have a pretty awesome update for you! 9.gif

I'll give you a teaser of that tomorrow with the update 2.gif

I'm so sorry! I totally forgot to brung you the update i promised! I'm a bad person.

    Well here it is:

Okey, well no big news to Downtown exept the newly opened Apple Store.

    cxl_screenshot_gapado%20city_60.jpg

And I've started on yet another executive suburb on Alderney Island. It's not to big yet but I will try to upload some pics later today or tomorrow, but right now I just got to show you this overpass of the Alderney Line of the Garnica City Metro (GCM)

    cxl_screenshot_gapado%20city_65.jpgcxl_screenshot_gapado%20city_66.jpg

Maybe a bit boring with just that but I'm really proud of it! 36.gif

Here's a pic from inside a GCM station, with the older trains on the left and the newer modern trains called "The GCM Comet" becouse of its speed and modern design:

    cxl_screenshot_gapado%20city_62.jpg

And now the teaser I was talking about! 9.gif

Like some of you may know we have a little "union" on here called UCXLJ (I'll give you more info on that some other time) Sadly it has been kinda unactive the latest months. Some weeks ago though we played with the idea of a World Cup (Soccer) I made a proposal that everyone who wanted to host it would post a application, or bid, and the members would vote for their favorite.

I haven't gotten any response yet but I've started working on a bid that I'd like you to see. I just want some kind of conformation from the UCXLJ first that there's anything going on. But like I said I'd give you a teaser of it. So here it is:

    UFA%20Union%20Cup%20Garnica%20City%20201

    *UFA: Union Football Association

And if there wont happen anything on the union I'll post the bid here just for you anyway 2.gif

Not so many pics today but like I'd said I'll work a little more on the suburb and post some pics of it later 4.gif

Tell me what you think with a comment! 2.gif

    ENJOY!! 9.gif

    Now another update! 9.gif

Still no pictures of that suburb i was talking about in the earlier update, I found other stuff to do 3.gif

A while ago the construction of a big ferris wheel, it's a part of the new seaside park thats just finished.

Here's some pics from the construction:

    cxl_screenshot_gapado%20city_47.jpg

    The first month

    cxl_screenshot_gapado%20city_48.jpg

After almost a year most of the park was finished and the great ferris whell was close to completion.

    cxl_screenshot_gapado%20city_69.jpg

Now it stands along the shore looking out over the seas.

    cxl_screenshot_gapado%20city_70.jpg

It was named Union Wheel, to honor the upcoming UCXLJ HQ Application from Garnica City

Other news is the new Phanico Airport. A close to Downtown airport for short buisness flights from and to locations in Wadur. Its located beside the highway running through western Phanico.

    cxl_screenshot_gapado%20city_71.jpg

    The small terminal.

    cxl_screenshot_gapado%20city_73.jpg

And a overlook og the entire airport and its location.

Southwest of the Airport and across the highway the city is building cheap housing for unqualified workers.

Also more pics on that later but here's one of the brickhouse barracks:

    cxl_screenshot_gapado%20city_72.jpg

Other things I'm working on is the public transportation. I will give you an update on that later with some overview maps and statistics 4.gif

Tell me what you think 'couse this is it for now 4.gif

    ENJOY!! 9.gif

Good job, I like the terminal. However, I think you may want to make the poor district a bit more 'grey'2.gif

Love the terminal, Im not sure if row housing is realistic near a airport ( I could be wrong 4.gif ) but always remember to make it your type of city building. Good Job Bon Job!

Thanks guys for your feedback! 9.gif

@Damastius: I know it looks a bit green and living now, but I kinda put out thoose trees in a hurry to take a good picture, I'm sure the finished neighbourhood will be "a bit more 'grey' " 2.gif

@Jesse Swiss: I have to defend myself a little here! 3.gif First: The houses aren't that close to the airport. If you look at the sixth picture, or the second one with the airport, you can actually see the houses on the other side of the highway. It's a big grayish square 2.gif Second: I think that thats just the houses that should be near a airport. Since they are built for unqualified workers the living standards are sopossed to be kinda low 3.gif

Thank you again for showing interest and the kind comments! 9.gif

I wanna know how you managed to build the landmarks without ending up having a half-built structure.

Just one pretty simple and short word:  cheating! 2.gif

I got inspired by other CJs on here using lowered highways around their cities. I wanted to try it out so I'll be lowering the Downtown Expressway. I will also put a short part underground, letting Downtown expand to the west. Also the tunnel entrance to the Alderney Tunnel is moved further away from the shore and closer to Downtown. This will make room for some nice beachvillas for elites and executives.

Here's first the current situation and the second one is the design of the future Downtown Expressway.

    Downtown%20Highway%20current.jpg

The many crossroads prevent the traffic from flowing, and makes the traffic loud and thick.

    Downtown%20Highway%20plan.jpg

The gray roads are roads that will be left as they are. The blue is the lowered expressway. Three roads go over the lowered expressway, and two of them will connect to it.

I'll tell you if/how it works out soon! 9.gif

Great. I also have a lowered expressway in one of my cities, which I'm going to publish sooner or later. Good luck, you have to plan ahead really well with this sort of things, because you never know what can happen I say this out of experience :S

Awesome idea! The good part about it is that you can take way that road without having the various buildings not having road connections 4.gif

    Thanks guys!

@Damastius: Yes I saw your new CJ Trivordam with the lowered expressway. It looks really good with the small roads at the side making it look like walls. Even though I kinda understand how you did it I don't get it to work, so a small tutorial on that wouldn't hurt anyone 2.gif

And yes! You should do waaaaay more planning than it seems like. Like you saw I did a basic plan, but that took over an hour working out how all the crossroads would work out. And I had to make some more changes in the game to make everything perfect.

Is it that Damastuis and Jesse Swiss are my only readers or are you just shy? 'Couse I want to know what everyone thinks 3.gif so please give me more feedback and comments. (Jesse Swiss and Damastius: I'm very happy for your thoughts)

And now a small... well not maybe a teaser, but a picture of a piece of the Downtown Expressway.

It's the North Downtown exit just before the entrance to the Downtown Tunnel:

    cxl_screenshot_gapado%20city_76.jpg

Work is continuing quiclky with the rest of the expressway, and the South exit is planned to open for traffic later tomorrow or wednesday. The construction of the east expansion of Downtown is also moving quiclky and I think I'll put it together with the next update.

Then there will be less text and more pics I promise 2.gif

I read all Union city journals ... eventually

    and I love it!

Ocram's Razor: Though "more things shouldn't be used than are necessary," they're just too fun to pass up! Expect many verbose arguments from me. I will try to write abstracts before or short summaries after from now on.

    Words to live by:
"Now there are varieties of gifts, but the same Spirit. But to each one is given the manifestation of the Spirit for the common good. For to one is given the word of wisdom through the Spirit, and to another the word of knowledge according to the same Spirit; to another faith by the same Spirit, and to another gifts of healing by the one Spirit... But one and the same Spirit works all these things, distributing to each one individually..." 1 Corinthians 4-11

"Do not worry about tomorrow; for tomorrow will care for itself. Each day has enough trouble of its own." Matthew 6:34
"Do not judge so that you will not be judged. For in the way you judge, you will be judged; and by your standard of measure, it will be measured to you." Matthew 7:1-3
