Hi everyone, sorry for my english becasue it isn't good... I have question to you. I have some region that I very like, but it have one big defect - there are only small and medium maps. I would like to build one big major city in this region - so it is possible to modify the region by connect the four selected medium-sized map in one big? I would be very grateful for help.

Sorry, but there isn't. Welcome to Simtropolis! I'm also kind of bummed at this, as my region is smalls and mediums  too. Nice idea though.

In fact, it is. On the folder where this region is installed, MyDocuments\SimCity4\Regions\Timbuktu (this last name may vary depending on the game version you have installed), you can find a pic called "Config.bmp". This determines the size of the cities on the map. Red is small city tile, green is medium city tile and blue is large city tile. You can paint this file with MS Paint according to your needs, but remember that the existing cites WILL be destroyed.

You can find more information about this subject on this Omnibus article.

Some people have found that even the largest city titles aren't enough for a single city. To alleviate this problem, think of separate tiles as counties or parishes. That way, a city can stretch into multiple counties. Plus suburbs, too. 2.gif

Just a word of caution.  Keep backups for your original region.  If you mess up, you may need to get back.

As is apparent from the scale, city "tiles" were never meant to be "cities" per se. They are just managable "bites" for your system to put together your landscape and still have high probability of running successfully on random available hardware. By proper terraforming, layout, and management of "edges" and "city connections" you can achieve a very nice looking overall region.. of course it just gives you one more thing to think about, but in a game noted for micromanagement, who really cares? 9.gif Now that we can reasonably integrate diagonal "bridges" (at least in terms of function) that is one less thing to worry about. It's all just part of the challenge.

There is a workaround: You can convert your region into a grayscale bitmap with the SC4 TerraFormer or SC4Mapper, change the Config.bmp and then deconvert your region with the new config.bmp. This way you don't loose your region.

It is fairly easily done, but requires the use of an added tool, SC4Mapper. Please check out reply #37 by c.p. in this thread. It tells you step-by-step how to change tile sizes without damaging your terrain.
