Cities XL 2011 Crashing?

So basically I’ve been trying to play cities XL 2011 since Wednesday evening. Every time I lunch the game go to the planet and pick out a city (blank or occupied) it'll load up half way then bam it crashes? Has anyone had this problem and figured out a solution? For some reason the tutorials work fine?

I never had this problem, but do you have High settings? If yes, maybe lower them a little, that normally helps

See i tried all that still nothing. It crashes every time!

Yes i did say the tutorial worked without a problem. I don't know why the tutorial would work but the game it self wouldn't?

I've played since release (actually a day earlier) every day, very often, and it never crashed so far. And my PC is rather mediocre.....

Maybe it helps that I play on medium graphics, with Atmosphere display turned off ?

Do you have Cities XL 2009? Did you import your old cities? If you have used any mods, then those mods will have to be copied from the Cities XL 2009 paks folder to the Cities XL 2011 paks folder.

Otherwise, not sure what the problem might be.

First my computer is running an intel 930 core i7 at 4.0 ghz 12 gbs of ddr 3 ram at 1800 mghz 4.5 tb of HDD 120 gb of ssd 2 gtx 470's in sli im sure my computer can handle Cities XL thank you very much.

Ive to set everything to as low as they can be set still won't work.

No i did not import anything it was just a fresh install and it hasn't worked since.

My game is crashing too. I think it has something to do with the auto save function.

Yeah mine crashes with autosaving. Especially right when you hit escape to get out of a tool and it autosaves.

IMO the game would be better without autosaving.

i've only had to kill the process when i use alt+tab to switch in and out of the game on my dual monitor setup while playing. was unable to open earlier today, but a restart fixed everything.

I've uninstalled Cities XL 2009 to see maybe that could of been a problem, but no luck so far .

I did not import any cities so no mods should affect it and mine crashed once while loading my supportive industrial city. Actually, CXL 2011 became non responsive and I had to close it with Task Manager. My computer notified me that it installed updates and told me to restart or special shut down my computer so I assume that the updates were the problem. That was the closest thing to a crash I experienced so far.

I performed a disc defrag and it kinda of helped the problem. Now it's just the cities that are already built into the game that won't load resulting in crashing. I guess ill have to wait for an update.

You (obviously) must have mods installed in Cities XL and used them in your cities. I had mods so I decided not to import my cities.

My game also crashes when I play cities from CXL '09. Otherwise, its fine.

Never imported a single thing. But it doesn't matter now i can finally play the game.
