in my experience, part of "winning the game" is directly related to how much you regretfully trade with Omnicorp.

yeah, that makes sense... the lots should still be vacant if the station gets demolished. I have more trouble with getting my computer and the game to handle more than 4 stops in a 1 million population city that I only build small lines.

well, you probably are using a stolen key for 2009.

don't worry about leisure, it's probably one of the leftover hidden gems that Monte Cristo left behind. basically.. build basketball courts like elementary schools, pools like middle schools, and all the others that pop up. You have to place one of every type to even have a chance at leisure. i.e., you'd want two heliports since one is stupid, one skate, one paintball, yada yada..

why would anyone not want to download it? the 2009 and 2011 games are mutually exclusive. 2011 is not an "upgrade patch" to 2009.

if you click on it and hit delete, you only open up the lot, not remove it. you have to hit delete on the vacant lot to remove it. use the big bulldozer tool to delete. If you haven't learned yet, the bulldozer tool and making bigger roads is the only way to make money.

apparently trading water, food, fuel or waste with Omnicorp does not bring you any cash. Only trading workers seems to bring in money from Omnicorp. Otherwise, just create cities with specializations to trade with your other cities. If one city has a lot of Water, you can freely trade with a city that doesnt as long as both are making money, and it doesn't appear to cost the city anything as long as you have freight. freight is merely how many transportation connections you have to the outside world. If you want to trade 10 tokens, you need a road that can handle that amount of freight. the minute you get Expressways, make all your connections expressways and then change into your normal road after a "few hundred feet."

i've only had to kill the process when i use alt+tab to switch in and out of the game on my dual monitor setup while playing. was unable to open earlier today, but a restart fixed everything.

I ordered on tuesday night. wednesday morning I had the receipt email. the next day I had my key, early no less. the site is real and apparently secure. if you paid for CXL2009, you owe it to yourself to get this version.

First day of playing CitiesXL 2011 - The Trains System is not what I expected

I run SC4 on Windows 7 with no special settings and no real problems. back on topic, the trains: I built one main line throughout my city that already had a 3-line bus terminal and 3 bus lines. I placed my maximum 20 stops and confirmed and my revenue immediately went from +40k to -100k. I then deleted the bus terminal and company and my revenue went back to +140k and seemed to have unlocked a lot of awards. I think there is a bug with placing bus and metro together. Anyways, I have just a metro line now. They are placed in purely empty 1-unit zones, as in, you can't plop them in park areas, it must be untouched land, and then yes it is exactly like placing a tunnel system. here, you can see how it travels underground, and even OVER my highway tunnel into my industry zone. -

The ability to form a real-world infrastructure is great, and the added "auto-adjust" with Omnicorp pretty much always keeps you at positive cashflow if you have trade with them setup already. i.e., you don't have to monitor your trading with Omnicorp. -

I haven't tried the Metro tool but have a city over 1 Million population and everything seems to be exactly the same at 2009, granted with some obvious monthly cost changes and other minor changes. the only true bug I've experienced is one of the awards for what I think was holiday trading had the #VACA_ITEM whatever thing instead of the specific text. overall, it's just what I thought 2009 was going to be.
